1. Will be interesting to try it out for myself tbh. We dont have the footfall through the door to shift a pallet just yet. Making it available to the local area is a start so with a bit of advertising, advising and availability hopefully it will be a product we can invest in.
2. Well I suppose there is nothing to loose by giving it a shot since there is no big first order. I did look into stocking aspen when we set up last year but tbh it got sidelined as I dont think its something we will sell a lot of ATM, but a small first order to see if theres interest is worth doing. Might be a bit more than 3 5 litre cans but deffo not 54! I will give you a call over the next few days Eddie or drop me an email etc.
3. I didnt mean that it was only for 'experts' more so that if he is new to tree climbing it might put him off right from the start:laugh1: It sounds like he wants it as basic and cheap as poss so prussik and 13mm will be the best and easiest to use combo IMO. Good to see your helping him out with a climb,as its easier to pass on expertise and knowledge face to face rather than over a keyboard.
4. Have you tried climbing on aeris? No offence but I wouldn't recommend it for the OP. A nice cheap 13mm will do you fine.
5. All pre orders sent out today, so as long as Fedex do their job they should be with you all tomorrow.
6. A quick bump to say only 3 left. ALSO, dont forget we will have one on our climbing wall so if your local pop in and have a try. You can always bring your own climbing rope/kit if you want to see how it feels with your setup. OK, its no where near as good as a proper climb but better than nothing.
7. Unfortunately it will be very obvious. the magnets will be in pieces and the stator/alternator will be shredded.
8. Nope. Need to remove both coils then just one bolt holding it onto the crank.
9. You need to remove the flywheel as the magnets are inside. The magnet you are probably looking at is for the ignition coils etc.
10. Ive spoken to numerous beer drinking fat blokes, someones sisters, uncles, friend of a neighbours brother and a taxi driver who used to be a tree surgeon and they all agree that it will be released definitely with out a doubt on a Monday. As for Husky, they dont know! Speaking to a few guys from Husky last week at a conference and the earliest is going to be May, maybe. They have more T540XP's being trialled(25 of them) which should finish the end of this month, so all being well it could be 4-6 weeks from then. Basically the 020T set the standard and trying to get a saw as compact and as powerful while still meeting emission regs is very, very difficult. Hopefully when/If it does come out it will be a stormer of a saw and it better have no running issues or reliability problems whatsoever!
11. I was just about to say the standard 61 carb settings are 1 turn out but sounds like you have it sorted now:thumbup1: I have access to more or less all the husky tech info so if stuck for anything let me know and Ill see what I can do.
12. Have you tried a new plug? Worked on many an 020 over the years and not very often but a couple of times have had this similar sounding problem that points straight to the carb but has in fact been a simple dodgy plug. Sparks ok out of the cylinder but not under pressure.
13. The difference is that you have been using VXL and the new chain you have is VX. The L being long top plate. Tbh I didn't think anyone still sold the VX since as you say they are about half the size!
14. Done. Good luck with the project.
15. There are definitely no replaceable parts on the zigzag.
16. The reason they do an impact test is because there is no way they will want you to test it in the way its designed to work. Ie full revs, nose of bar in contact with timber to cause a kick back. The saw will kick up but the inertia will trigger the brake even if your hand doesn't contact the handle. It's probably a more important test than the well known test we generally do.
17. Just a quick update to say we now have the tree core now in stock.Edelrid Tree Core Its coming in cheaper than the tree magic(still available while stocks last) and as always with Edelrid its a nice looking quality piece of kit. It has a nice touch with the bridge, ie its adjustable while in use.
18.

Hi Mike, Not a problem mate its a pleasure.Leave it with me and Ill sort it, they dont do XXXL so it will have to be XXL im afraid, but I think it should be OK TBH.

19. Congrats to all the winners and donators. Plus a very big to Steve I will contact the Skyland Equipment winners but in the meantime if any of you are reading this drop me a PM with your address and we will get the prizes sent out.
20. Best present has gotta be my little helper elf! I was hoping for some help on reductions and section fells but his mum isnt too keen on that! So its packing and stock checking in the new year fella. Or maybe its my surprise Tassimo! Its a close call....
21. That's good news! Cheers for the info. Hopefully the rope choice isn't critical and it just needed that extra bit of weight.
22. Ooops meant to ask a few things and forgot mate, sorry:001_rolleyes: Anyway, what types of rope were you using and did you find it to self tend on its own or did you have to guide the line or compress the zigzag as mentioned by someone else earlier on? If it did need a bit of attention did it still need it when there was a good bit more rope beneath it? Thanks.
23. I did try my best to do just that. But, with only 3 of them in the UK there was absolutely no chance! There are plenty of people pre ordering them already so I guess it wont be very long before we see plenty of reviews here on AT. Me and Barry are climbers with around 18 years experience and are still involved with the cutting side so we will definitely be using one out in the field and giving it a right good hammering.
24. Hmm three of us tried it out but it didnt want to self tend even with the 11mm rope. Now it was only on a climbing wall so prob only about 8-10 feet of rope below the zigzag. The rope doesnt run freely through like a spiderjack or well honed hitch. This was just your standard bit of hand over hand climbing ie not purposely positioning/adjusting the zigzag and guiding the rope through. As Rupe says though a bit more trialing with different ropes may be in order. The guy from Lyon equipment (petzl importers) who came down to demo the zigzag is a decent bloke so i will try and arrange another demo out in the field, but i doubt it will be this side of christmas though. Although tbh it wouldnt matter to me that much as i still prefer my HC/VT over a prussik and i have never had the patience to get it to self tend properly.
25. More than welcome anytime. Just having another think about the self tending business and there is no chance with 13mm.
