  1. Did you manage to sort it out? I had a 236 toolless tensioner in the other day the bar studs were exactly the same length as a standard 236, in fact I tried to swap the sprocket cover and it fitted perfectly. here are the IPL The bad news is the complete standard cover is just under £40 + VAT!!
  2. Sorry for the very late reply. I have no info other than that I have asked Meindl UK but haven't heard back yet, so not looking very hopeful unfortunately.
  3. Cheers Ray hope all is well mate. Yeah unfortunately it is definitely someone who is in the industry and no doubt has been in a few times, they knew exactly what they wanted and where it was. The police are still looking into it as it is worth their while , ie they haven't just given us a crime number it is being investigated still. Catch you soon Ray. Hedegesparrow, its probably still in the area being used mate. At least measures have been put in place that will make things a lot more difficult and has upped the odds of them being caught quite a lot.
  4. I thought it might save him some down time and expense in returning the saw again etc.
  5. I would check that the tank vent isn't leading and that the impulse pipe isn't either detached or split. I have seen these two problems on the 540
  6. It looks like there are only two variations so there is a good chance it will fit, but dont take my word for it:laugh1: This is the other and older design. I didnt see your original post, as others have said it probably just needs cleaning out, maybe the odd new part but TBH you wouldnt need a whole clutch cover unless the actual cover itself is badly damaged.
  7. You are missing a couple of digits from the first part number. Lots of the 257 262 clutch covers do cross over with each other but it also looks like there are a lot different part numbers and designs. Your part number will fit these saws. Do you have any other info on what year saw the part is off?
  8. I dont want to jump in on this thread trying to sell something , but i've just looked and the parts are available from husky so worth giving your local dealer a shout.
  9. Fairy common on the 200, I have seen loads of these over the years, it is probably a blockage in the pump. You will need to take the clutch and drive sprocket off to get at the pump. If you remove the pump which is held on by two screws then rotate the drive gear in the pump should see the blockage come out. You have to rotate the gear backwards, so try it both ways.
  10. My suggestion is to mix as big a quantity as you can. We always mixed 20 litres to 400ml at a time. The chance of getting it inaccurate are reduced plus any discrepancy in fuel and oil quantities is reduced. I would presume fuel pumps are fairly accurate but IIRC someone, somewhere on the internet or in a pub did some research and the findings were that if you feather the pump ie on/off/on/off etc then you get slightly less fuel. Although not too good for the wallet it isnt the worst scenario for the saws.
  11. IanW, sorry only just seen your question. jim94 is correct, unless you're northern Scotland etc then its another £6.5 + VAT unfortunately. Cheers for the order jim, they are a very nice looking helmet and have some nice features. Only taken 6 months to get them on the shelves.
  12. Yeah the husky sweets dont appeal to everyone. Although I seem to have acquired the taste for them! At least you havent tried using them as ear plugs(some poor soul did, credit to him for admitting it though!) the 560 is a very impressive saw:thumbup: I would be very interested in feedback on the breatheflex as they have proven to be extremely popular. We sold out of the popular sizes very quickly but have fortunately received some more stock today but from what I can see there arent that many left in stock in the UK and it might be september before they get more in, so be quick ordering from your dealer if you are after some. Bob, theres no chance I can get the Stihl sweets in too, I am putting on weight as it is:001_rolleyes: Cheers for the nice words fellas, it is still early days for us but sales are constantly on the rise which is all down to you .
  13. Just a quick heads up to say theses helmets have now arrived. Husqvarna Technical Forest Helmet *NEW 2014* - Helmets - Helmets - PPE & Clothing Here is hoping the combi cans wont be far behind!!
  14. Cheers for the feedback, and sorry for the late reply! What do you mean by the handle folds? We dont sell in the volume that the large established retailers sell in but I haven't had any returns with these probs yet. All we have had is, av rear spring, yep its not very strong, well not up to the job anyway. One leaking fuel tank vent and one impulse pipe connector fail. I appreciate the info as it all helps:thumbup1: Our one still gets abused and the bar is looking good and the saw is running strong with not one problem.
  15. Just as a quick note DMM specify NOT to use hot water, it should be lukewarm at best. Otherwise the heat can distort the plastic pusher thing causing sticking problems. They also recommended WD40 or any other silicone based light oil as already mentioned. This was in answer to my question to DMM of using graphite powder as a lube. I think the problem with graphite powder is that it is too easy to add too much. All it needs is a little poof:001_smile:
  16. Its been a while since we had a little giveaway, this one is on our Facebook page. Win a Silky Cap, T-Shirt and Gomtaro Pro Sentei Saw! Wherever you are in the world if you win we will post it! Click on the link below or search for Skyland Equipment in Facebook - and don't forget to like us https://www.facebook.com/skylandequipment
  17. Tbh I would say it might not be the best thing to do. I would imagine the vibration levels to go up but there might be too much strain/pressure/leverage etc on that bolt which could damage the thread in the fuel tank.
  18. I meant to add if you want part choke you need to pull out and lift up but not all the way. This gives part choke and no throttle. To have part choke and part throttle you need to pull out lift up push down all the way then lift up but not all the way! It's best to remove filter and have a mess about.
  19. Out and up is full choke and part throttle. Push the lever down and it knocks the choke off completely but still leaves part throttle. If you remove the air filter you can see the choke butterfly and get a good idea of what's happening. So for a warm start its no choke but part throttle. Not every 560 will need that though, some start fine without having to put part throttle on when warm.
  20. I would probably echo Steve on comments about the saw, nothing but positive from a users POV. Apart from the rear AV spring getting a little twisted the saw has stayed together way better than any 200 ive owned. I would be really interested to hear what parts are falling off, breaking etc. Any info would be very much appreciated.
  21. The vent is a simple two minute job, the impulse pipe is buried a bit further into the saw but its not 4 weeks worth of work!
  22. I cant see any bulletin's about impulse pipe or vent problems. ALthough one of our customers(didnt buy the 540 from us) sent his back to the dealer because of running problems, turned out to be an impulse pipe problem as you described. Ive not spoken to husky about any of the above problems plus there is the possibility that if husky know which batch of saws had the problem they could just contact the dealers that received that batch of saws. Cheers for the info though:thumbup1:
  23. Sorry it was a pdf, here is a pic. Yep from the husky IPL, I bought one in the other day to have a look at it before I removed one from our saw. TBH im not sure how the vent could be faulty as there are really no parts to it that look like they could fail, if that makes any sense! But, if fuel is leaking from it then it sure isnt doing its job!
  24. The vent is part 7 T540XP-Parts-List 20.pdf
  25. Been having a look at our 540 today, it has no fuel leaking issues and is a 2013 week 25 saw so quite an early one. The pipe your pointing at runs through a black elbow connector onto the fuel tank vent. If it is leaking fuel it will cause quite a lot of running and starting problems. The vent is not a one way valve like some other vents, it is made of white plastic and has some kind of metal gauze filter thing which allows air in but no fuel out. It will however draw air and fuel out of the tank if you suck on it! I had our one hung upside down for a good few hours after I had given it a good shaking to build some pressure up in the tank, not a drop of fuel came out of the vent. It is quite easy to remove the vent with a pair of long nose pliers, BUT, I wouldnt try it unless you can afford to have the saw down or have a spare handy because if it gets damaged (and it may well do if it is faulty)it could send quite a bit of fuel out making running even worse. The vent is fitted to loads of other saws and not solely designed for the 540. Part number is 537 35 95-01
