  1. Im going to go for a shameless plug and say we sell them at that price but free shipping:blushing:http://www.skylandequipment.com/machinery/chainsaws/husqvarna/husqvarna-236-chainsaw-14 BUT, I will also add that we have been using one for the last few months(still involved in the tree side of things) and TBH its not a bad saw.As long as you remember its not a £500 pro saw so not compare it to a 550/260 then its quite good. If you could get a decent second hand pro saw at that price then I would go for that instead but otherwise you could do far worse than the 236.
  2. Had a customer contact us saying his LOLER inspector had failed his wire core lanyard as the snap hook wasn't a triple action and was therefore 'illegal'. Now I'm fairly sure he is wrong and as far as I'm aware triple action is recommended for primary lifelines although I cant find any info in regards to work positioning lanyards. I spoke to our suppliers who said this is the first time they have heard this product failing a LOLER inspection in this way. So, my questions are, was the LOLER inspector right to fail it as it should be a triple action snap hook? If so is there any literature out there that states the need for a TA? If he is incorrect again is there literature out there so I can show it to my customer as I doubt his LOLER inspector is going to take my word or that of the importers. Any info would be very much appreciated.
  3. Yes we are husky main dealers, I was part way through ordering some gear from them when I saw your post. Those parts are coming in at £72.94 + VAT. Not sure how that compares to getting them from the US though.
  4. Just had a look on the husky site and it says they are all in stock To get the chain cover it looks like you need to buy number 1 which also includes chain brake handle plus quite a few other bits you probably dont need unfortunately!
  5. I was just going to ask if you had tried it on 13mm but looks like you've already answered that one. The difference between using it on 13mm to 11.5 was like night and day! I hope they make it a bit more versatile this time around, or at the least have a couple of different sizes available.
  6. I would take the exhaust off as it probably is in there. If not there I would remove the carb, if no luck then remove the cylinder as I've never tried that idea of filling it with petrol etc. I certainly wouldn't want to start it without getting the bit of rope out first!
  7. The -02 has superseded the -01 Husky list this as where used K650 Cut-n-Break, 2007/08-01 The RRP is £87.90 ex VAT if it helps with pricing.
  8. That is extremely cheap! I didnt think you could get engine oil that cheap anymore. We buy direct from oregon, husky plus others including an oil manufacture who mix the oil for some of the mentioned companies and it certainly costs us a lot more than £1 litre ex VAT.The engine oil is even dearer as it has more additives in it. We used to use cheap engine oil along time ago when it was something like £2/£2.5 for 5 litres. Never had an issue with bars/chains wearing prematurely. Changed to 200 litre drums of chain oil when the oil prices started going up. Although I like the sound of the rapeseed oil and think ill give it a try.
  9. No I dont think it will fit any of those saws. The thread is a different pitch and size IIRC. Will find out tomorrow when Im back in the shop.
  10. The cap is only available in the large size so it will fit quite a lot of other models that I haven't listed on the web site. Husqvarna only specify those that I have listed. So it will fit the 576, 395, 3120, 357 262 etc etc but not the 346 or 550. It should fit the fuel tank of the 346 but not the oil tank and it looks like it wont fit either tank of the 550. Im not going to be held to this but as a general rule 50cc and below not much chance over 50cc probably will fit. Hopefully thats vague enough for me not to be sued if someone leaks oil on their boots. As for the which is better husky V stihl cap, well that could be a whole new line of threads! It isnt a quick release like the Stihl but then again you will know 100% if its in properly or not. Seems strong enough but only time will tell. The husky one is quite a bit more expensive. They are quite well designed though, you can push the dimply grippy bit which will pop the flip bit out so if slippy/oily or wearing gloves etc there wont be any messing about trying to get your finger under the flip bit. There is also a slot under the flip part so if it has been overtightened or done the magical thing of tightening itself for no reason, which I have a theory on but need to check it out:laugh1: you can get a combi spanner in there for an extra bit of purchase. Spring that keeps the flip bit down seems strong enough too. Hopefully they will release one for the 550XP and T540XP soon which should cover more or less everything else.
  11. We received some new stock of the 560XP this week to discover they now come with the new flip fuel and oil caps. Husqvarna Fuel and Oil Flip Tank Cap For those who haven't seen them they they still screw in unlike the stihl caps so can be retro fitted.
  12. Well apart from being disappointed as I'm a climber by trade and still do quite a bit that was also one of my concerns tbh. I'm sure some of the demo testers had ones with flippy caps! Our one didn't but that was a 2011 model. I've prob detailed the thread a bit so will leave it at that.
  13. They flip up and screw in. Best of both worlds, maybe.
  14. Unfortunately not. I spoke to husky UK the other week and atm there is no further info on whether they will be available in the future. Which is a bit of a shame.
  15. Sounds like a dodgy switch. It should take a little bit of effort to push forward ie not had our one get knocked and turn off. Then it should spring back to the on position.
  16. Some nice pics there. It is a cracking park and just down the road from me. When I'm back on the pc I will try to get a Google map up with an approximate location of the oak, which btw is very impressive. I've got some pics of it knocking about somewhere.
  17. We have the HP in stock just dont have it on the web site yet. Its cheaper than the low smoke husky oil but the 1 litre doesnt come with the easy measure bottle.Low Smoke oil 1 Litre easy measure I cant remember the price ATM TBH but its at least a couple of quid cheaper.
  18. That's the one. They won't be making them in yellow anymore only black from now on.
  19. Probably drove past you going the other way! 6 hours of driving to get from Liverpool to Devon.(2 hours more than it should of been) M5 wasn't much better the M6!
  20. I know I was just taking the piss a bit. Ive had one in bits, not too bad actually, IIRC there was an awkward bit with the linkage between the carb and the 'strato' bit but there is a knack that once sorted was very easy. I put it on some scales and bar 20 grams either way was the same as a 200T.(14"techlite bar on 540,stihl 14" bar on 200)
  21. You need a right good slapping for saying that. T540xp is nice looking saw:001_wub: The spark arrestor was the first thing I was going to modify:thumbup: but have managed to hold out for a bit to see if it does make any difference.
  22. I doubt theres much in it to offer any kind of a decent discount:laugh1: But, we are looking at getting more bundle discounts together on the web site so ill give you a shout if we sort it out. Excellent.
  23. Had a check and the swivel wont pass the gate but will pass the horn bit. So it will sit at the bottom of the carabiner fine.
  24. As someone already said the thicker band you get with the helmet should do the job. If you can't find it call into the shop as I will have a spare one I can sort you out with.
  25. I think there's no chance but I'll check it out tomorrow for sure.
