  1. I cant compare it to the 201 as I havent used the 201 for any length of time plus only on the ground testing it not in a tree working with the saw. I can compare it to the 020/200T since as a climber I have been using these more or less every day all day for the past 17 years. In short I rate the husky over the 200T and will certainly be getting one for the tree work side of the business never mind for resale. The 201 should have been the next ultimate climbing saw as its predecessors unquestionably were(the previous husky top handles were dire) but it seems to have had too many issues right from the start. I hope Stihl sort it out soon and dont let it linger like the 200T carb issues. The 020T is a classic, if the husky doesnt fall to bits or have running issues then in time I think it will steal that title. AFAIK Everyone who has trailed the 540 wants one. From what I can see its the continuing tightening of the emissions that cause these running problems. The big problem is what to call it when shouting the groundie to tie it on! T540xp is waaay too long and so is 540. Ill probably still say the 'O tweny'
  2. Yep thats what I told the rep, also would be handy if it had a filler on the top so you dont have to stand it at an angle to fill it right up. He thought I was pushing my luck at that one! Apparently they are sorting a transparent one out and I do hope they sort the auto filler as it only works great for about 20 minutes from new.
  3. If anyone from Arbtalk wants to preorder the T540 from us then yes, we will sort them out with a free combi can. The one we had had the old style filler caps unlike the one we have on the web site. Husqvarna T540XP Chainsaw 12-14" - Husqvarna - Chainsaws - Machinery Thinking back I'm am fairly sure they were quite small.
  4. Im always mithering the husky rep about the saw too so dont worry about asking. Although I havent a clue tbh, sorry. We use the husky combi, yep I know it can be a right PITA, we just never got round to buying a stihl one! Although I also hassled the rep about its faults and apparently they are doing something about it! I doubt I will be able to get hold of one again in the near future well not before they are released, but if I do or can find out I will let you know mate. Im surprised the stihl nozzles dont fit the other saws though, I never knew it was a problem! BTW you will want one as they are a fantastic saw so you might just have to buy a new huskly combi can.
  5. Dee, pm me your post code and ill let you know when I'm back in the shop tomorrow. Albere, I will find out tomorrow what we can post it out for.

    Fuel Mix

It might be worth you haing a look at this product.Oregon Fuel Additive 5ml - Fuel cans, Oils & Lubricants - Consumables It could be an inexpensive and easy solution to you problems. I have never tried it myself but then we go through approx 20 litres of fuel a week so old fuel isn't an issue.
  7. Well we have the vizir and petzls in stock so I'm sure I can sort something out. Petzl Vizir - Eye protection - Clothing & PPE I have never used the vizir but I'm going to keep one handy for those "wind in your face no matter which way you turn, choggy beech stems."! Just out of interst if they do scratch up, or any other type of eye protection over time it might be worth trying some polish, you can buy it quite cheap for removing scratches from mobile phone screens etc. I've tried some called displex on my phone screens in the past and it worked really well.: Only use it on the outside though as it will remove any anti fog coating etc.
  8. Looks like we are still on for an August/September release as they are releasing the promotion literature according to the latest email
  9. The battery one is called the T536 LiXP. This is all the tech info I have atm. Designed for professional users who want a lightweight efficient, extremely easy-to-use top handle chainsaw. Perfect for arborists.A robust chainsaw with excellent ergonomics, high performance, high chainspeed and lightweight. HUSQVARNA T536 LiXP Motor type BLDC (brushless) Chain speed Normal mode/savE mode, m/s 20/15 Standard cutting equipment 12", 3/8" Requires BLi110 (36V/3.0Ah) battery & QC330 (330w) charger Max runtime with savE activated 30 (free run*), minutes Typical charging time 80% /100%, minutes 25/35 Weight incl / excl std battery , kg 3.6/2.4 *No load. Cutting equipment only.
  10. Typical, we just ordered a load of petzl gear yesterday and were looking at getting some pantins in but decided against it as we weren't sure how popular they were. Ah well looks like it is worth getting some in then.
  11. why don't they want a grinder in there? There are grinders that will probably do less damage to the shrub bed than having to dig, axe and winch them out. Plus it will be a lot quicker and a hell of a lot easier on the back.
  12. I've been using one for the last couple of months and think its very good. It also comes with the Husqvarna ultra clear visor.Husqvarna UltraVison Visor - Helmet Accesories - Helmets - Clothing & PPE It does have more padding than the vertex vent and is very light.
  13. There's a free one going here.http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/skyland-equipment/45880-climbing-kit-giveaway.html Well if you enter and win there is. Although I'm sure if anyone bought a silky from the web site we can throw in a free t shirt.
  14. Yes it can, yes it is. In short.
  15. True, but, maybe better and I would guess easier to replace the eyelet than a tool strop on your harness. My treeflex agrees with the above.
  16. Just use a plastic bin coupled with your dumpy bag. I wouldnt use plastic bags as they would be a right PITA trying to fill them up.
  17. Honestly mate there is no way it should need that much cleaning! The price you have from the USA is unbeatable, well as long as its a genuine husky part. Check the mesh against a light as if it was that bad and you have given it that much of a clean I would be surprised if there arent small holes in it or the mesh hasnt started pulling away from he body of the filter.
  18. Definitely pop in Carl and have a look about and a chat Just check out the opening times Visit Our Shop as they are quite limited atm sorry. Cheers Amy, we try our best
  19. I would definitely look at getting an air compressor if you have the funds and the space to use one. Like all good tools you will find plenty of other uses for it. Failing that a carb cleaner should be good enough to dissolve the oil enough so the sawdust will tap out. I would not scrub the filter as you will probably do some damage and put tiny holes in it.
  20. On the plus side I have 10 ton of sawdust so oil spills will never be a problem again! Cheers lads and lasses I was lucky to have such a nice bit of timber in the first place, all the effort and skill was already done for me.
  21. R.I.P. A terrible accident indeed. I have heard of quite a few deaths from MEWPS usually the machine failing, but in most circumstances the operator falling to their death due to not being stropped in. We hardly ever use MEWPS (prob 0.0001% of the time) but I always strop in. If the bucket flips over it will catapult you to the ground so its always worth bearing that in mind!
  22. Felled a decent sized beech back in around 2009 due to meripilus. We bought an alaskan mill from Rob D:thumbup: and got a good few decent planks and beams out of it.Most of them are still sitting there in the yard being threaten every now and then to be turned into something nice! Anyway, one day moving them about a beam around 4" square fell to bits due to some rot, probably the only bit of artistic imagination I have ever had flared up. So I made this pair of tea light holders. It took quite a bit of sanding and varnishing. I used le tonkinois varnish which worked well when I applied it properly! They really need another fine sanding and a varnish.
  23. I like that, very nice. I always have grand ideas to make stuff, but hardly ever do. Although I have made a beech candle holder which I will have to post up.
  24. Oil is 10W30 and from what I was told by kohler you shoudlnt but anything thicker in as it can damage the piston rings and seals. Plus you want to be very careful and never over fill it as the angles the stumpys work at can cause some hydraulic problems etc.All info from kohler. Plugs are champion RC12YC Filters, I just bought a load of kohler ones ages ago so cant help out on part matching sorry!
  25. Just a quick one to say we are catering for the Husky user in all the essential consumables and spares Husqvarna - Spare Parts - Consumables. Its just taking a lot of time to get everything on the web site so if there is something you require but cant find then drop us an email or give us a call. ATM we have most Husky bars Husqvarna Chainsaw Bar - Husqvarna Chainsaw Guide Bar and chains Husqvarna Chainsaw Chains - Replacement Husqvarna Chains in stock but bars over 28" are low in stock so please call for availability. BTW any feedback on the chain/guide bar selection configuration would be more than welcome, ie is it easy to use, if not how could we improve it. Cheers. Mark.
