  1. The CT helmets have good feedback and do go smaller than the Petzl, although not sure if the 2019 Petzl helmets have more of a range than the pre 2019 ones. It is recommended to use a thicker ear muff so it clamps to the head better with the CT helmet. The new 2019 Petzl helmets can be used on and off the ground due to the adjustable chinstrap.
  2. Thats a good bit of advice. Often manufactures change things on the boots but dont tell anyone, actually the same can be said for a lot of PPE! There isnt really a best of anything, be it boots, trousers, harness rope etc. Too much personal preference involved.
  3. I have never tried it but I assume if you replace the coil with an exact coil i.e. the same part number then you shouldnt need to use the CST?
  4. I would be interested to hear your feedback once youve used the machine for a bit. Going by sales and customer enquires the new T540I is looking like it will be a popular battery saw. Be advised, you do need to use the BLI200X or the BLI300 ( a bit heavy for the top handle) to get the full performance, ATM Husqvarna are out of stock of the BLI200X and judging by the number of calls and emails so are a lot of dealers including us. Middle ish of July before further stock of the battery will hit the shelves. If it truly has the power of the T540XP then is has to be a cracker of a machine!
  5. Good to see they made it backwards compatible, not something you see these days for sure! I suppose it makes sense as its more of a reason to swap to battery rather than start over again or move to another brand, some of those attachments arent cheap!
  6. Also the stihl easyfile works best with stihl chain, use it on an oregon or husky chain and it can screw it up.
  7. Best to post a few pics of your chains. Sharpening a chain correctly is a skill. Too much hook can kill a chain, drawing the file back against the chain can take the edge off. 99% of the time keep the file level and dont push down.
  8. Im not sure but I guess the motor is in the head for reasons you have mentioned. At least if you slightly bend a shaft you can carry on without a big bill!
  9. I would be careful buying copied fuel pipes. I have seen many a cheap machine with melted and degraded fuel pipes after less than a years use. Surely the cost saving must be tiny on a cheap part like that? Ime I would only use non oem parts on a machine that was more or less destined for the scrap bin, seen far too many dodgy coils and carbs to wonder if it's worth it. Except for maybe the good quality piston/cylinder kits available.
  10. They are now both really good machines, personal preference or maybe what your local dealer has in stock. I agree with spud on the stihl being nicer to work on.
  11. Yep they fit. customer recently swapped to battery power whilst still using his old kombi attachments.
  12. We dont leave bricks anymore, you can now sell those on ebay.
  13. Worth mentioning that you will only get full power if using the bli200X or the bli300 batteries. The older bli200 will still work it just wont give the performance the saw is capable of.
  14. Goes without saying.
  15. I dont doubt you or the rep but it depends in what context he said it was a known issue. Is it a known problem as in they know it has happened as opposed to its a known issue in that it is a flaw/manufacturing problem causing the issue? If its the later then I would imagine recalls would have been on the cards as a bar and chain flying off due to a poor design is a very major problem.
  16. Cheers for the kind words and order Joe. Its always a pleasure taking money from you
  17. Dont worry, I have seen many a Friday machine while carrying out pre delivery inspections , I was just saying that it isnt a known issue i.e it isnt a common problem.
  18. Not many suppliers stock class 2 as no one wants them as they are more expensive and heavier than class 1. I would just but some class 1 trousers tbh.
  19. That is the early style clutch. As others have said it is prob the worm wheel, check pump is secure and in place. If you cant get the tool elsewhere let me know as we do stock them but dont have them on the web site.
  20. Tbh it isnt a known issue. It is to do with tightening the bar nut too tight otherwise there would be a lot more of this going on, and there isnt. Ive seen a few 50/60cc stihl and husky machines with broken bar studs, there is only one reason why they have failed.
  21. If it's for normal use and you want a pro chain for cheap just buy oregon. If it's for dirty work where you will just bin the chain once is blunt buy a cheap chinese one. You can't beat stihl or oregon for quality so for full time pro use doing bother looking elsewhere, well except for husky sp33g or the c85 which is just as good as the stihl/oregon equivalent. That's only from my personal experience and customer feedback.
  22. Just buy stihl, husky or oregon depending on whatever is available for your machine. They cost nothing and last way, way longer than most people realise. It just depends on the spline size as to the fit.
  23. We do. Let me know what you need as we only have a coupe of full reels in stock, it only takes a day to get more stock in.
  24. Unfortunately we all have important and pressing issues to deal with ATM but I thought it might be of interest to give an update on how we will be operating in the up coming weeks. For now we will be focusing on online orders and we recommend that local customers use our online web site to purchase items rather than call in store. We do have plans to close the shop to walk in customer for not only staff safety but also to protect our customers as we have a small shop that would contravene the social distancing guidelines. Supplies from UK manufactures and UK divisions ie Husqvarna UK, Stihl UK is still quite healthy ATM. I would suggest you look at your consumables ie files, chains, oils etc and make sure you have enough supply as we dont know when or if we are going to be forced to close. This is going to be devastating for a lot of us, stay safe.
  25. If you get stuck we will probably have them in stock.
