  2. Does your ariel rescuer really stand around with his harness on just in case the climber needs rescuing, which is unlikely ever to happen in his whole career?
  3. Good idea Hodge.
  4. Lookin forward to your cider show jon!!!
  5. Farmers often use them for barns. Seems to work well for them. As others have said, they use them whole not milled.
  6. Have you checked out the micro arb truck. Seems sensibly priced and designed for tree work.

  8. I'm not going to be much help here, but there are rumours of a shortage this year and it does appear to be difficult to source seasoned wood. Maybe not the best year to start selling logs. I wish you luck in your enterprises
  9. You just had to get those power lines in shot....
  10. My calculations make it 4 hours but that aside, the men should certainly get paid a full day as I expect they have been on site since around 8am.

Go Jap, just not Navara though!!
  20. If the owners of the larger house do not mind what happens to the tree, could you get them to sign a letter to this and crack on with the other home owners wishes?
  21. Maybe Mark. But if like me sales have gone absolutely nuts this year (over 300% on last year) and I can't see my stock of seasoned logs lasting much beyond Christmas. Besides, whats the problem with someone buying seasoned logs, processing them and selling on again as firewood?
  22. Of course the yield class tables will help as roseyweb suggests. Be interesting to hear of your findings
  23. I don't think yield class tables will show the increase in girth but will the increase in total volume. I may well be wrong
