  8. agree with above quotes - reducing the branch gradually may encourage the tree to react as it would when preparing to shed a limb

  17. is the hedge exposed to the wind? does the foliage on the other side of the hedge have a similar pattern?
  18. No Mark - its all well judged - the rope was placed to get an even balance - the size was ok not too big a branch - tree species ok for this type of task- and I presume a side cut without a face cut slowish good job for me
