  1. Hi, My 365 uses a 0.058" gauge chain, chain in skip or semi skip is difficult to get hold of but does exist! One solution could be to get a standard chain & grind off every third link to make a semi skip chain - Anyone ever tried this? Rob D sells skip chain by the link in 0.063 (but not 0.058) so you'd need a bar to match Alternatively I think Frawleys Saw Shop supply them, they also have an e-bay shop. If you Google Frawleys saw shop it finds it. hope this helps N
  2. Hi I think the Dolmar 420 is also worth a mention, cracking saw for the money N
  3. Or start a new one N
  4. Well yes, my pal is perfectly happy with his & there are a few other positive posts here, its a case of horses for courses so if you dont expect too much of it then Im sure it would be fine, although the Dolmar 420 seems to be a very nice saw for the money. N
  5. Hi, sure it will be worth the wait N
  6. Hi, Rob has some 12, 14 & 16" Sugi bars showing for the 435 at Guide bars might be worth considering Good saw the 365xt, cut a lot with mine. N
  7. Hi, A friend of ours got a 435 recently & its a decent little saw, 40cc engine coped quite well on 16" but would rip on a shorter bar. N
  8. Hi Get the 365xt, its a cracking saw runs 20" fine - which I like very much. Once you're out of warranty, remove transfer covers & grind the fin like resrictions out, plenty of pics on tinterwebs to show you how. Or give it to Spud to do if you dont want to remove the cylinder. N
  9. Hi Maria, Firstly, Im no pro, but I have felled a fair few trees in difficult situations. Its slightly tricky to gauge perspective from the photos, however, Id be tempted to knock the tops off & fell parrallel to the building - becuase i cant see the extent of your space available. It may be worth considering to leave one till last to prevent stumps rolling towards the building. You could spike this one last & chog it down. Felling towards the building may have a risk of collision & even a stump cut short could continue to travel downwards & towards the building, unless limited by a fairly decent strop. Theres also the top of the wall which could take a bit of a battering & this would be avoided if you felled parrallel to the house (think thats the right way to spell 'parrallel' ) Just my thoughts & take care. Edit: From past experience some landowners can be difficult to deal with, but yours maybe not so? N
  10. Hi, Agreed, a lot of saw for the money. Slight de-rail but it pulls a 24" OK then? - I mean it feels to me like it should be fine but never tried one & I think the same bar would go on a 390 should I ever move up to one. N
  11. Hi I have a 365 & its a good solid saw, pulls a 20" bar easily put a Sugi Hara on mine & the balance is great. It can also be uprated to 372 like performance by grinding the restrictions in the transfer covers:biggrin: Im sure a 560 would be great but Im a bit hesitant regarding auto-tune. N
  12. Hi - sounds like you have a cracking saw there, nice one Spud. N
  13. Hi Id get a 135 over a 236, the 135s engine is 40.9 cc so slightly larger than 236 & if you keep your chain sharp it should cut fine but dont expect it to tear through on 12" dia logs. You might like to consider running it on Aspen or Husky Power 2 which Im told is the same stuff. I take it part of your budget will be for chaps, helmet & gloves - which to be honest decent leather ones are fine but you may have a preference. If you have a bit more cash then take a look at a Dolmar 420 its a cracking little saw & much better built than any of the small 'homeowner' type saws & at a decent price, may be worth thinking about if you have a sizeable quantity of logs to cut. 15. Hi We have two solicitors in our family, I am fairly co-herrent with legal matters. I would say, you need to discuss the matter informally with your current employer & gauge the reaction It may present a conflict of intrests if you are still employed by them so I suggest you take care. As Hairy suggested, theres nothing to stop you taking new photos once you set up on your own, of what is after all your work. N
  16. There was me, thinking I was the dogs knob using a Dolly at the age of 12 all them years ago... Respect, you brung her up well, young man! N
  17. Agreed, Troll: you need to man up - take a trip to the gym or start using your saw all day every day. Ian C: agreed, 260 wasnt a bad saw & the Dolly looks good to me N

    echo cs 620sx

Thats rich comming from an 88 man I must admit my friends 620sx pulls extremely well, almost like a 70cc saw & theres no mods. N
  19. Hi Mr Jones, I currently buy spares from lsengineers.co.uk I find their search engine pretty useless as it returns a lot of results mostly incorrect. I dont buy a lot of spares myself, but id certainly use it as Ive had great service from you & I can see an advantage to anyone running a business having the diagrams with the part numbers to hand. N
  20. Hi I have a Pelican ink pen & a rather nice Mikimoto biro - writes beautifully Ive seen the pens made by Ian - in Mr Bs & post above & they look fab N

    Husqvarna 346

Yes, I'd love to but have to bring it over to UK as carriage is too much:thumbdown: To me its pretty close to perfection on a 15" I think the 550 is the latter version but its got electrics in it, but they continue to sell these in France if you fancy a trip over, not sure for how much longer though. N

    Stihl 291

Hi AFAIK - slightly lighter & better AV than the 290. The engine is a strato, perhaps a smidge more power - as for reliability time will tell, hopefully its a good update. N
