  1. Hi Sounds like you had an extremely lucky escape, good luck with your new career as a photographer. So are you a Nikon or a Canon man? N
  2. 08s skip find - started third pull on fresh fuel! donated to good friend who couldnt fix his AV041 MS260 2005
  3. Hi As I understand it you grind off every third cutter, so you end up with two cutters (L&R or R&L) then a gap and so on. N
  4. Hi Perhaps the oil gets too viscous at lower temperature? just a guess N
  5. The same man who raided private pension funds, then realised that some one had to pay for the 'quantitve easing'. I must admit I avoided being forced to buy an anuity, as the returns are pants. Pay off your debts then Property, property, property was my mantra I agree entirely with your points 1 & 2 albeit difficult and would add a third: Scale back your expenditure and cost of living to fit your income. Although fairly obvious there are people who consider they will be 'kept in the manner they have become accustomed to' N
  6. Nothing to do with a certain person who forced the pension providers to sell their stakes in the bonds that provided lucrative returns & buy his junk ones... sigh. For anyone who's 25 now, I can only see retirement age getting higher as successive governments take a slice of whatever you invest in & move the goal posts continually. N
  7. Hello Sorry to hear of your problem. Your father acted very reasonabaly & cannot be faulted there. As it was the neighbour who instructed the work to proceed, without consultation with your father then I think the neighbour may have acted incorrectly. In contract law, as I understand it, both sides have to agree the scope of the work & the price. So if you scratch my car & say Ill pay to repair it but I have my car resprayed without you seeing or agreeing to the costs involved, theres two issues: 1. an element of betterment, the car was repaired but the repair was excessive & 2. There was no agreement to proceed with the work or any cost provided. It may ultimately be covered on his car insurance but I dont see why you should have to claim when agreed to settle, the neighbour has not followed the correct reasonable procedure in informing of the cost involved & you can provide the quotes as evidence to show they are clearly 'lining their pockets' at your fathers expense. So I think you are well within your right to tell them to duck off (perhaps best just ignore them ) & wait for a court summonds and prepare your defense as Im fairly sure you will win. I suggest you make detailed notes of what happened and when in preparation & dont tell them about the quotes (unless you already have) as that will probably bury them in court. Good luck, my learned friend N
  8. Hi Take care with Ash as newer growth dosnt seem to have much bond strength to the main trunk. We have an old Ash with new growth on and most of it was removed (whilst in leaf) by a not so strong wind. I wouldnt worry about the ivy, it will soon grow back! where abouts in Bath are you? N
  9. Recieved on Friday 13th too, Lee Kok? I suspect one of the residents of Bugis Street N
  10. Take a look at MalwareBytes It can be used alongside your existing antivirus package Ive recommended Sophos Home as a good solid security AV & web control etc for a few years now, simple & effective & its not in your face as some of these things are - there was a time when the word 'Home' meant crap, but not with Sophos. Think there is a version for iOS as well as PC & Mac. N
  11. This sort of spam is fairly easy to defeat, If your mail is read via a browser like Gmail or you use a POP3 client like Thunderbird then use something like Mailwaher Pro which accesses your POP mail store before you download/view your mail. Theres a small leraning process so the software understands what is junk along with white listing etc to increase accuracy but once set its fairly good You can also bounce messages back to spammers, which they dont like but personally, Id have the lot of them rounded up & shot. N
  12. Nice one Spud, they must be connisseurs of highly tuned 2 stroke machinery. N

Hi Well done, 395 is a beast. Best use Aspen/Husky Power 2 which Im told is Aspen re-branded. If you mix your own then Red-line with Aspen 4 is a sound choice. N

  24. Speedtest requires macromedia flash (yes I know, its a security risk - use Flash disable to control it) to be installed although it should warn you about that, otherwise you need to allow scripts in your browser for the site if you use NoScript. Failing that clear cookies & reload the page N
  25. 8.0 Mb/s down .8 on the up, perfectly acceptable for rural France Speedtest.net by Ookla - My Results If you get poor speed in UK, unscrew your master socket, remove the plug inside it then plug in your router to that socket. Retest, if theres an improvement theres something causing a problem on your side - noise, old telephone, microwave affecting bell wire etc. N
