  7. Yes & No, In the past a court order was applied for & generally issued. The difference here is that a wide range of suthorities have access. The chances they dont handle or control the slurped data correctly is fairly high & the opportunity for abuse is vast. As for monitoring individuals who may commit terrorism or paedos, I doubt very much if it will be of use as they already using strong encryption on the dark web over Tor services. Its exception reporting that works best with extremely large datasets as opposed to needlessly harvesting everything when searching for the needle in the haystack. N
  8. Today the Queen signed the UK Investigatory Powers Act into UK law. Perhaps its time to consider a VPN as it means the following groups will have access to your Internet history, akin to the sort of state intrusion that exists in China or Russia. 16. Eggs, You'll probably recall that a mortgage was once only available for 3 times your annual salary, then it was 3 +1 the one being the lower wage. This effectively controlled house prices. Interest rates took off in the '80s, the factors affecting it were: waiting, risk & inflation. This wasnt limited to the UK, it was a global thing & everyone suffered. The banks got de-regulated & before you all pile in and blame the government of the day, the opposition are equally to blame because they diddnt change it back when it was their turn. This was followed by the availability of cheap money and 5x sallery not uncommon with that, prices increased creating the spiral of borrow & spend pushing house prices to where they are now - with that came the need to work, work, work to service ever increasing debt. Its obviously a little more complicated than that, but we're not sorry to have escaped the treadmill & grateful for what we have. N
  17. Hi https://www.frjonesandson.co.uk/offers/black-friday-2016/ https://honeybros.com/Category/Black_Friday? N

  19. Even more invasive than Windows 10? Perhaps they just buy the datastream from Microsoft? N
  20. Hi TCD Sorry to hear of your infection, however Im sure its removeable. During my time as a network admin, the most successful method of persitent virus removal used was via the sophos bootable CD. This is available freely at: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/52011 boot CD https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/111374 boot USB stick You must create the boot disk/usb on a clean PC & follow the instructions carefully. That would be my way of dealing with it. If you have a friend with a Mac, you could try download Sophos for Mac for free. I have removed PC viruses from PC disks by removing from the PC & connecting via a disk caddy to Mac then scanning the disk with Sophos. For all Mac users, please consider using AV - Sophos is free & its actually rather good https://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-antivirus-for-mac-home-edition.aspx I have no connection with Sophos N

    Fake or not?

Hi, yes agreed Jonsies pics similar, It was also the wierd angle of the pictures that also made me think fake, I couldnt help thinking there was a reason for missing bits off and awkward angles. Perhaps the black plastic has faded in the sun? If it is genuine, not stolen, whos to say thats the exact same item arrives? N

    Fake or not?

I have a 365xt which is a similar saw, assuming the case is the same, it looks similar enough. However as noted by others, the fuel caps/handle plastic are too black. If sometings too good to be true then it probably is. Why not get one from FR Jones or one of the other site sponsors then you know its gen? N
  24. ... & he's on vodaphone with no signal? Been a worryingly long time for an update, quite windy too, hope he's OK? N
