    Dolmar

Yes, it nosedived during December, bottomed out after second week of Jan then made small gains to around 1.32 for this weekend. Partly due to the Chinese problem & Europe seen as safe haven but I dont think it will carry on for long once they realise the UK vote could end the gravy train! N

    Aspen

As stated, Aspen 2 does not require mixing. Its expensive, But really its cheap because, it dosnt 'go off' & its always the correct mix & you can leave it your tank. it helps keep your engine clean and dosnt get up your nose like petrol fumes do. N
  3. Yes, friendly sarcasm I barely noticed...thats one of the things I like on the forum, but dont you get me hooked on a 115 as well - Its hard enough to justify the 420 - want & need or is it wanton need? Yes, 365sp or 365xt is a great saw & mines on the mandatory 20" RobD bar (otherwise known as Sugihara) makes me smile anyway:biggrin: Bon weekend a tous N

    281XP coil needed

Hi Wes, Gardenkit has a load of saw bits which as I understand he will part with for a donation to charity & if my memory serves me there was a fair amount of Sthls - so may be worth a pm. N
  5. But you would have the right tool for the job & some redundancy! you woldnt play golf with one club? N
  6. Hi, I have an MS250 which is fine but it dosnt seem made to last & there are certain things that are annoying about it. That 115 sounds good but I have a 346xp perhaps itll be around when that goes... The 420 is a similar sized saw that is beautifully engineered & cuts very well for its size with no daft gimmicks - my Echo620sx friend has one in his collection #Envy N
  7. Hi The 550 is a good saw but has some complicated electronics if it goes wrong, what you probably need is something tried & tested that dosnt need attachment to a laptop. These are the ones Id look consider are: 42cc - Dolmar 420SC 50cc - Dolmar 115 which Shavey says is still available! 60cc - Echo 620sx 70cc - Husqvarna 365xt The Dolmar 420 is an absolutely cracking saw & very reasonably priced & may be just the ticket. What ever you get run it on Aspen then you wont have to worry about fuel going off etc. N
  8. Hi Shavey, That says a lot for Dolmar I hear nothing but good words about them & long may it continue. N
  9. Yes, dont part with the 357, if you flea bay the 362 /339 take a look at an Echo 620sx nice saw N

    Torque =???

Hi Stubbys reply is spot on Torque is turning force in either Newton metres or foot ibs, thats the same torque as in a torque wrench. The more torque an engine develops, then the better it will be for towing N
  11. Hi, I hope they go well, but I'd be loathe to sell anything that works well, especially a decent 357 All the best with your business venture. N
  12. buid a wall to 'keep em in at night' Yew would be my first choice, so long as the ground dosn't get waterlogged otherwise as per above suggestions, beech or hornbeam make nice hedges N
  13. Takes aim at foot with high velocity lead dispensing device... Well, I assume the Huskies are bought and paid for so you may as well hang on to them, or at least keep the 357 theyre good solid saws. If you run a business then a back up is absolutely essential as things break and need repairs all of which is non productive time. Perhaps put '201t problem' & '362 clutch bearing problem' into Google for other peoples posts. N
  14. Hi, welcome Id keep them all, the 3 series Husqvarnas are pretty durable. Ive heard of trouble with the 362s clutch bearing failing just like the 261. N

    Fuel gone off?

Hi When I used to use 2 stroke mix from petrol it would go in the mower if it was more than about 4 weeks old. If you have long periods without use I would consider Aspen. It sounds like you repaired the symptoms but not the cause, perhaps there is an air leak weakening the mixture or just weak mixture causing the sieze? check the plug colour for starters. N
  16. Hi, Incidentally, if you go Mac based then Sophos Antivirus for Mac is free, which I think also includes iPads? If you want more than just AV theres a comercial grade security package called Sophos Home which is free as well. Not that you will find many, but it provides re-assurance from one of the leading AV vendors - I have discovered a few oninfected USB sticks from PC using friends - always a surprise when the Sophos screen pops up on connection! I have no connection with Sophos but have a reasonable knowledge acquired through my previous work as a systems admin & network manager. N
  17. Hi Dumped all the Microsoft nonesense years ago & very glad I did, working as an IT consultant it was hoplessly embarrassing when it all too frequently went wrong. Switched to Mac & all our family followed - I was pissed off being the unpaid support line & tbh windows is a liability. So if your O/H has an iPad which does everything you need then look no further. If iPad too expensive then look for a tablet that is Linux based, I wouldnt touch anything Windows based there are so many reasons to avoid it & I have no regrets leaving the madness. That said Windows 2000 & NT 4.0 were actually good solid OS, fairly unbreakable. N
  18. Yes also +1 from me, good luck everyone... Incidentally, the link on the image of 'Spuds Chainsaw Workshop' centre third down, should be http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/33857-whats-your-bench-today.html its currently https://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/33857-whats-your-bench-today.html which dosnt follow/not found 404 N
  19. Hi Ty Good dit, there are too many freeloaders who take the piss Thanks for posting N
  20. would you know where to go for bearings for a ms260... the flywheel side is not a problem but the clutch side is not so easy to find...it was either original or cheap chinese. thanks john. Try LS Engineers Search results for: 'MS260 bearing' | L&S Engineers N

    Oh dear !...

I cant say Im at all impressed with some of the stuff turned out by Stihl, the 261 & 362 both have clutch bearing problems, which continues to pop up now and again in the forum My own has had a few things replaced which should have lasted longer so they're not on my list either. N
  22. Hi Stubby Yes, sad loss, he was great actor in many films, very good in Love Actually with Emma Thompson RIP Alan N
  23. NFG

    Dolmar

Oh er, Im not so sure I like the look of that, perhaps its a wind up & that was naughty to change your avatar, I go three days off this thread & you do that to me... N
  24. Hi, I used First Telecom for years in the UK they were very good, also you get to speak to someone when you call their number (as opposed to ansa phone maze) unless theyve changed. Used them for voice & ID Net for broadband - one of the better providers IMO. N
