  1. Hi Steve, We're in the south Vendee, nearly all the old houses have red tiles. Lots of sunshine here! Thanks N
  2. Re-roofing our depenance a couple of years ago Stripping off the old stuff, then re-enforce the wall tops, re-enforce ridge, bit wonky but solid, redesign gable to match existing kitchen roof and new chimney. Changed roof line to allow increase in height to wall last pic, remove cement render and replace with lime mix. Underpinning to wall & large support for 1000 litre water tank - centre. Not fallen down yet.
  3. agreed, along with excellent products. Our daughter lives just 15 minutes from their shop in Sydenham. N
  4. Well done Justin & all at FR Jones for your excellent service N
  5. Hi Few simple things for starters: Check the plug colour - if its 'biscuit brown' or similar coffee colour then mix OK, black = rich, pale/white = weak - there are plenty of pics if you search. It may be also worth checking the fuel pickup pipe is OK as I had a problem on my MS250 once replaced ran fine & only a few quid or the fuel filter is not clogged up. There are plenty of vids on the tube to show how to change it N
  6. Hi My 365xt is about 3-4 years old and Mr Jones is still selling for around the same price I paid from his store Very good saw and as you probaby know power can be increased by grinding the transfer ports. Its also not neccessary to use the de-comp when starting as I think some have problems. N
  7. Hi Echo 620sx - friend of mine has one, cuts 100 stere a year & swears by it N
  8. Hi Sugihara Pro lite with the resin filled cut outs or pro solid, I find these bars very hard wearing & do not flex much. Also replaceable roller tips See Rob D's http://www.sugiharabarsuk.co.uk if not Id use Tsumura N
  9. Hi Think this is what youre after: http://www.stihlusa.com/WebContent/CMSFileLibrary/instructionmanuals/FS80_85_Manual.pdf N
  10. Happy birthday et bon aniversaire Jon, dont you go drinking too much cizzer N
  11. & thats because some courier who dosnt give a **** about you, your delivery or the company they work for, sat in their van nowhere near your property & transmitted the neccessary from their handheld device. N

    Stihl 250 & 381

Me too As for the 250, I was in need at the time & a 241 would have been a better choice but not on the shelf. N
  13. Yes, Somerset actually, used to work there for Brake Brothers running their network a while ago. Definite scam N

    Stihl 250 & 381

I think the update to 251 was about 2012 ish, the 250 isnt bad on a short bar - 14" although the actual length is closer to 13". Its better in its basic offering without the tool-less tensioner which dosn't work, but I prefer my Husky 346 which is 50cc and has a lot more rip. N
  15. Is it possible ? No. To go through 19" in one cut you need to pull a 20" bar so 60cc or up, bear in mind the dogs take an inch or so. if youve got any sizeable quantity of trees to feel & limb up then an Echo 620sx or a Husqvarna 365xp will do, otherwise a 50cc Dolmar or Echo 501 if you cant strecth to the 620sx. Whatever you get run it on Aspen & dont forget your PPE. I daresay someone will be along to rubbish that and say you must have a Husqvarna 560/550 because nothing else comes close & its a few ounces lighter and better balanced but there are plenty of other 'best chainsaw' threads to get more info if you search. N
  16. Quite a few how to's on the tube, like this which I think explains it quite well or get Spud to do it for you N
  17. Im no fan of the tool-less chain tensioner, it made it difficult to get the tension correct & as stated complicates flipping the bar - my 250 had it but I converted it to 2 studs. A 231 is not much of a leg up from your current saw, Id be looking around 50 - 60 cc. N
  18. You can still buy them in France you know although the £/Euro not so good right now Thanks, it was well cleaned for that shot:biggrin: N
  19. Thanks Stubby, diddnt know about the earlier one. N
  20. Hi 365 is a nice saw, agree with Stubbys comment, also it can be modified to a 372 by grinding the fins from the transfer covers, the only difference (AFAIK) is the 372 has slightly larger piston & bore. There are two versions: 365 special (earlier) & 365 Xtorq being 65 & 70 cc respectively - both are excellent saws. No autotune in the 365xt so no expensive electronics. Pulls a 20" bar very well, havnt tried mine on larger bars but perhaps consider skip chain if used with a 28". N
  21. Oh no, Ive only just come out of re-hab you know. N
  22. Nice collection, thought they looked a bit too clean:biggrin: N
  23. I agree, but if it were modded as Stubby suggested & run with a skip chain its probably fine if used occaisionally, as the OP states: "I am tempted to get one for infrequent use". N
