  1. Hi guys. Has anyone here used SBR on indian sandstone slabs to help them bond to the cement bed? I've never thought about it before until a guy in the builder's merchants mentioned it to me earlier. Is it really worth all the extra fuss, work and cost?
  2. When first I started, I cut lawns for £10 each but that lead to more and more other jobs. My 2nd ever customer had me going back to do fencing, repair a patio as well returf back garden. I now do the gardening at their son's and next door neighbours. To price up fencing, work out how much per metre in materials it's going to cost you and then more or less double it. However you might want to find out how much your competitors charge and see if it's worth your time/effort undercutting them. Good luck with the new venture!
  3. Cheers for the replies. This is exactly why I love this website.
  4. Hi everyone, just wondering if any one on here can suggest a good timber yard/fencing supplier in or around the Tunbridge Wells area? I've got 30m of feather edge to do and need to try to work out if it is easier (cheaper) to cart everything I need from Cardiff, or buy the materials closer to the job. It currently costs me around £20 per metre for 6' feather edge, with 4'' posts with a 6'' gravel board and 3'' x 2'' rails, as well as postcrete and fixings. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.
  5. Cheers for the replies. You're right Steve, I think I blinded myself by seeing it as only my work when it was all done under another company's name. Maybe I should wait until I do work 100% for myself and use those photos. Cheers again everyone.
  6. Hi everyone, I don't expect there to be many lawyers on here but I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. I'm considering starting my own fencing/landscaping company and will be looking to set up a website and facebook page to showcase what jobs I can do and have done in the past. However, all the photos I have are of work I've done for my current employer. My question is, would I be able to use the photos of my work for my website if they are for jobs I completed for another company? Any help would be appreciated.
