  1. Not sure if its you in the pic but I would not be dragging it over to a block . Ring up what you can on the stack . You get a little avalaunch now and then but as long as you keep your eyes open you will be safe . Get all equipment as near as you can to the action , splitters , processers etc . Don't make work , minimise it where you can . Good luck bu d !
  2. Every year at this time of year we cut several hundred yards of beach hedge . I go along on the ground with a husky single sided cutter and my buddie follows with the steps and a husky long arm cutter . I do the face up as far as I can reach and he does the what I can't and the top. What critters live in the hedge and inflict their revenge on me ? ! Not looking for a solution ( long sleeves etc etc ) just curious as who the little fellas are ?
  3. Oh yea ! That pace of life would suit me , no danger . Makes " Axe Men " look a bit frantic ! I am totally envious .

Yea it has . Like you I don't like hard nosed bars . They are stellite faced but the friction is too much I recon . You can get replaceable sprocket nose bars in all sizes , pitches and gauges and assorted makes .
  5. The thought that struck me was yea, get a petrol saw and that lot will be logged up by lunch time or am I not seeing it all ?
  6. The one we havn't had . you know , the 2 stoke one .

I had a Sugihara 24" bar on a 385xp . It did not get used every day but I turned it a few times and dressed the rails once maybe . I think they are up there with Cannon . Alas the saw was stolen . Got one 50" Cannon bar on my 3120xp that should see me out !

The nose sprocket is shot because you greased it . All the grit and crud sticks to it . best leave them well alone I think.
  9. If it was parked on his property you may be covered on your/his hous contence ? Worth a try
  10. Yea get a stiff yard broom on yer johnson !
  11. Yep a landscaper/ gardener mate uses one . Its way better than our ordinary big step ladder . Much more stable and stupidly light ! Sometimes he gives us work he can't do and if it involves tall hedges we ponce his ladder !
  12. Pm spud he will know .
  13. Steve your saw is a nutter ! ! ! . You will seed some strides that are an inch thick to meet H and S ! Keep pushing the envelope bud ! Love it
  14. Nothing here , too wet still . Wheat laying flat in places.
  15. We used to use Midland on the shoot for partridge days , three separate teams of beaters all coming from different directions about a half a mile apart and they worred well.
  16. Yep got it some where . All common sense stuff I seem to recall .
  17. We have one with a big chip box on it . Tips well and holds more than the old trannie . More powerful as it is a turbo . Seems more bouncy in the suspension than a trannie . The mirrors are on very long arms making it very wide it seems . constantly having to pull them in to fit through gaps but other than that its a goodun .
  18. I do what you do, exactly that . I once drove my dads big audi estate from sussex to yorkshire. It has a little screen on trhe dash which lights up with " test brake" and wont go out till you do . I made it stay on for all of the M1 . What drives me bonkers is when following someone and watching thier brake lights come on when there is a slight bend in the road or there is another car comming toward them . Also those idiots that creep along at bang on 30mph in the restricted zone then stamp on the gas as soon as they come out of it and hard on the brakes just before the next one ! What about the person who comes up to an empty round about and stops there untill something comes round just to justify stopping in the first place ? and lastly 2 lanes up to the round about , 1 car in front of you and huge artic to your left . the lorry driver pulls onto the round about but the car in front waits cos they cant see if anything is comming cos the lorry is blocking their view ! do they think some thing is going to penitrate the huge lorry and hit them ? ? sorry rant over .
  19. Did you fell the other tree or climb up and cut it free ?
  20. Could you be having imobiliser problems ?
  21. The x27 has a 36"shaft so that in event of an inacurate swing you don't bury it in your shins !
  22. We have a bungie cord that has got its long service medal . Its held the chipper throttel open , kept the big step ladders on the back of the truc when its full of chip etc etc da de da de da
  23. I bought some cheap bog roll a while back and I had to loose about 40 odd sheets as it milked terribly .
