  1. OOeerr . My 390 is newish so not done alot of work but not had those problems ...yet . I wanted another 385 to replace my stolen one but when I went in they did not have any and said they don't make them any more so got the 390 which seems identical . Its a high top wity the big soft wood dogs on a 28" bar . bet it flies on an 18 or so !
  2. Get some soil from the gardens at Buckingham Palace , see if he can afford that mortgage !
  3. Nozzels and seals on the injectors . After a while they dribble constantly rather than squirt at the right time . This unburnt fuel finds its way into the exhaust making the smoke . Do all the other things mentioned and get exchange injectors as also mentioned .
  4. I bought a so called "cheap chinky " one because I liked the design . I has an anvill both ends and a double sided splitting wedge so you can split in both directios , load another ring whilst its on it way to he opposite end etc . Its supposed to be 20T force (never measured it but has not failed to split any thing yet) Honda copy engine . I modded it by fitting "road tow suspension units and made it one handed opp thats all . Its also faster than any other hydrulic splitter I have seen .
  5. Every cloud as they say ......
  6. Look at his other stuff . Hes got a walk in one ( almost) for £3,500 !
  7. Fort knox ! Only take small saw though by the looks of it Ms 200 Husky 346 sorta size ?
  8. Took your advise and got one from German ebay . 61 euros .
  9. If it was the Oregon blade they come in 2 thicknesses ( and assorted hole sizes ) I think its 3mm and 2mmm . I use one but its on a 45cc or 55cc Husky . They work well on bramble etc and can mulch it down quite fine .
  10. Tree surgery or forestry ?
  11. Ths Stihl boys will be along any second now ! I favor the big H so can't comment . I expect 880 will come up !
  12. Or rather no . it would not be wrong to think that !
  13. OH ok sorry . Err maybe its not oiling properly . Have you run the saw flat out for a few seconds to see if its sprays on to a log cut face or similar ?
  14. Oilers are designed NOT to run out before the fuel so there is never a chance of running the chain dry . You should really fill the oil tank first then the fuel that way its 100% you will not run a chain dry .
  15. Steve is right . My 395 is a "high top" and has a flock filter . but you can get h "high top" filters in the other grades as I have had them .
  16. Removed a holly a while back ( bad luck I know ) It had been pollarded so many times over the years that it was almost 4ft thick in the trunk but only about 15 foot high with a bush on the top . Whilst riinging it up I hit whot must have been a Victorian nail ! right in the heart wood about 2 inches off center .
  17. We were felling (in lumps ) some dodgy looking chestnuts and others that were in a hedgerow near a road for a local farmer .My buddie was up there knocking big ugly lumps off , as big as poss just to get them down . We were to leave them where they fell . We stopped for a break and sitting in the truck eating our scram when there was this almighty crash . We went and had a look and a bigun about six trees down the line had come out of the ground root plate and all ! The soil very dry we had no rain for weeks . May be the pounding from the lumps we dropped helped or not I don't know . but we could ha easely been under it or worse still my mate up it . Oh and it brought down the phone lines and cut off the farming village in the middle of the south downs for a few days .
  18. I think I have one some were . Its the High top one , bit like a 395 only a slightly different shape. Is yours a high top ? If so you can have it .
