    HERETIC!!
  2. lucky that tree was there
  3. At 200 it would be worth it just to do it up and sell it quick but by no means keep it unless you're a really good mechanic and are prepared to keep all you spanners in the boot.
  4. Is that an OEM pot? or meteor
  5. Lovely set up - got to get me a bigger saw and mill the 660 and 30" just doesn't seem to cut it. Milled some ash last weekend same sort of colour, had a problem with getting a smooth exit (ie not leaving marks at the end of the cut as the front edge of the mill clears the timber.) Not a problem I usually have is this common with ash or was I just having a bad day?

    Snow watch!

Blue skies and sunshine here, not a hint of snow apart from the top of the mountain behind us.
  7. If you enjoy doing it by hand then stick with it, as soon as it becomes a chore get a chainsaw.
  8. Well done all involved in this. Again, this thread is inspirational :congrats::congrats:
  9. That looks nice, will be interested in the answers to this one.
  10. Sprinkling of snow here this morning - rare for us
  11. I can still see the top surface - must try harder
  12. Go on - you know you want to
  13. Stoke St Gregory, trying to stay afloat
  14. A bit too big for my Alaskan and thinking about it if he wants to use the wood for cladding then an alaskan probably isn't the right tool for the job. Before anyone asks I know Bridgwater is a long long way from where I live but it's right down the road from my parents.
  15. What size is large?
  16. Long delay in posting an update. Does this mean it went badly?

    Monkey Puzzle

Really nice, I get the monkey puzzle thing now. Here's the one that didn't link properly, the best IMO
  18. I love that. Converted dumper with winch added?
  19. I picked this saw up from Barrie over Christmas and have finally got home with it and had chance to look it over. Really pleased with my purchase Got to spend a bit more time with it, intermittent problem with the off switch, bar needs dressing and it's running rich - 11000 rev at the moment. So with a couple of hours in the workshop I should have myself a nice little domestic saw. Thanks Barrie, get some more up for sale, I'm coming back down again some time in February!
  20. was in halfords today buying a new headlight bulb when I overheard another customer asking a member of staff if there was anything he could do to stop his car using so much oil? the answer - fit new spark plug . Could not believe it
  21. Some blasts from the past in that video - great to see it's still going strong
  22. Still splits easy though
  23. I've got the tinytach fasttach (on spud's recommendation IIRC) Tiny-Tach: Diesel Tachometers from ITCO Really great and trusting company to buy from, order first, receive goods and then send a cheque. Ticks all the boxes and is wireless so really easy to use.
  24. Get out tomorrow and start knocking on doors. See what work people have, garden clearance, painting, fence repairs, whatever. Then when you've gone right round your village get on your bike and go to the next village and do the same. Print off some flyers and take them with you, put them in local shops, give them to people etc, just do what you need to do in order to get yourself known. Then once you've got some money together you can put it towards driving lessons. My parents live in Somerset and were recently complianing that they can't find anyone to do the jobs around the place that they just can't manage now that they are in there 80's. There's always work out there, maybe not loads but it's there.
  25. I really need to get myself a bigger saw! How many of them did you get milled? Also reminds me - I must clean my alaskan
