  1. I don't think its photo shopped but yes its definitely segmented, seen large bowls made in that way before but never this size. He's going to have to build another platform to smooth the inside.. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. Just come across this photo, that's some lathe! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

    sheds/dens

I've just spent the last 2 days re-roofing a 7mx2.4m open fronted shed, new boards and felt and a couple of timbers were rotten and had to be replaced. Not going to post any pics because although I'm fairly happy with the roof the rest of the shed is a right embarrassment! Would have been best to rip it all down and start again but the customer wouldn't go for that. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Struggling to find parts for one at the moment, owner keen to get it going again but I don't hold out much hope. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. OK Dan got a challenge for you. Make a bamboo scabbard for silky to mount on his back, some of those koi of yours engraved on it would look good. But the best bit is you then spring load the katanaboy so it opens as he draws it. Would be cool as hell and only a wee bit dangerous. Not quite worked out how he puts it back in though! 7. Then you probably stand a fair chance of cutting your head off every time you pull it out. 😁 Would be cool though. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. What I meant was they were selling loads and were about to order another couple of pallets, I think they were surprised how quickly it had sold Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. Was talking to Mincost in Lydney a few weeks ago, chap was saying they have been very surprised with the take up of Aspen. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. Looks good but why the secrecy? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Was given something like that once, tried it out a couple of times on old 3x3 inch posts, IF you could get it screwed into a good amount of sound wood it worked reasonably well but more often than not it didn't work at all. Even if you did get the post out you usually ended up having to dig down the side of the old hole to get the new post back in and concreted/tamped in properly. 12. Always used 1.8m on 4x4, did try 3x3 years back but didn't think it was really up to it. Don't think I'd want to go to 2.4m, might be just about OK in a really sheltered position with no kids ever swinging off it etc etc.but wouldn't want to take the chance myself. 19. Watch your back if you go to collect these, one of them has to be at least 2" thick! Seriously though good on em for at least trying, if someone wants to pay money for that then I'd take it off of them. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

  23. One thing that this discussion, and many others, have proved to me is that if you are voting with your head then you really have to vote no as no one can say exactly what a yes vote will entail. There's a lot of conjecture, and it seems from politicians on both sides, outright lies. But there are very few hard facts and, for me at least this means I am leaning towards a no vote. That said I fully understand that in an election for independence that voting with your heart may be the only way you can go, facts aren't always the most important thing. 25. I'd be really impressed if 2 of you could dig in 2 strainers, knock in 5 posts, strut the strainers, tie off the netting on the strainers, strain the net, tie off or gripple the join and staple up all within an hour. To the O.P. the above should give you a good idea about how to do the job. If you want to stop the dog digging under add some chicken wire turned under a turf, about a foot out would be plenty, attach it to the netting with hog rings.
