  1. Circular saw really winds me up, sawdust straight in the face, struggle a bit with the bowl gouge on the lathe but I have a swivel head lathe so not often a problem. Don't have a problem with a chainsaw, just picked it up right handed from the start, same with shearing sheep I never tried shearing left handed. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

    Lpg.

Knew a guy a few years ago who had a V8 land rover converted, he reckoned he got almost V8 performance with the same running costs of a diesel. As I see it Pros. Higher performance at lower costs Possibly cheaper initial vehicle purchase cost Cons. Additional LPG tank taking up space - not a problem if slung underneath but I have seen some taking up half the boot space in some cars. Not all fuel stations have LPG, though this is becoming less of a problem. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. It gets even harder to make it look right when the grounds not level, if one corner is in a dip then you can end up with one post not very far in the ground, not a bad idea to take some longer posts as well. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Done it with sitka, fiddly to set up if its not dead parallel already as you have to chock one end/side of the mill. I used two 3x2 and wedges to get them level. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

  6. Did some several years ago, all rails, no netting. Seem to remember them taking a LOT longer than we thought, fine if it's just a throw it together job but to get the spacings, heights and angles right took a while. Remember as its square all the posts have to look right from ALL angles. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. I know its American species but this shows a massive difference in the densities This shows that the percentage of species can hugely change the weight of a given volume of logs. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. Still running 24 hours a day here Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. Tipped down yesterday, really windy overnight, rain this morning, snow this afternoon! Getting a bit fed up with it now. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. Umm? Don't different hardwoods have different densities? If so then the weight of a cubic metre would vary depending on the percentage of different types of wood used. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

  17. Can't see a problem there, just a company selling a saw. It may look similar to something else but in the end it is nothing more or less than it is claiming to be. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

Removed carb, drilled out old bolt, ran for cover as it started raining, cut down a 4.5mm wood screw, fitted and rebuilt. Off to work in less than an hour including wimping out cos of the rain!
