  1. We have got a 241 running a 14 inch bar and it is a great saw, no trouble what so ever, if the 261 was the same but bigger i would give up my 550xp! It is my wife's saw but i have been using it recently as it is so light and really packs a punch for a small saw!
  2. Dragging up an old thread there. The common opinion amongst people i know is that the smock is not great. Waterproof at first, sure, but that doesn't last long and it is hot as hell to work in. Positives are it is indeed HiViz it is thinck and does not rip and the back is long and covers ya bum. I would not buy another one and i would not buy another Cut and Climb as mine has leaked around the armpits since new!! Have taken to climbing naked when it rains, at least i have dry clothes to drive home in!
  3. phone up saturn machine knives (same company or grounp of companies as norther arb supplies) i just gave them the make and model and they had a set there ready for dispatch! (i also have a jensen a528) Good service with sharpening as well- they pick them up from your door!!

    New Tipper

I think this is the crux of it- 3.5t are no good for arb work!! I had my old cabstar on the weigh bridge and i couldnt carry anything once i had tools and two people in. In the real world we are all just trying to make money with ever tightening regulations so inevitably we will be overloaded leaving the job. Keep the faith!!
  5. That is super camp loaded up with a chainsaw boot in each bag and the rest of my kit and lunch for the day! Can barely pick the bike up with the weight on!! Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app

    Emigrating

This thread is only making me depressed!! Interesting the views here a real contrast between people that 'can't' leave and those that have or are aspiring too. Spent a month travelling round California not so much the south but up west coast and up the north. Not so keen on the built up areas but mountainous areas especially lake tahoe- now that is a place i would like to spend a bit more time. It is hard to get a feel for a place unless you spend a long time there but i was glad to be back home.
  7. I bought the bike from a friend who purchased it in the early 8o's. it is a revel romany but my mates nicknamed it super camp. I recon the mr motivater outfit would finish off the look a treat.
  8. bloody fuel spout has damn near seized on mine. i pretty much just use my old stihl can now. Will dig out the oil spout and swap it with the fuel spout to make it usable again- i did know it fitted from the start.
  9. i have a tourer, Super Camp, which i ride to work occasionally but mostly i am on the mtb with the throttle wide open!!!
  10. exmoor wood fuels
  11. Never been much of a country fan but was listening to it on the radio whilst in the usa. been doing some painting this weekend and been listing to it and seem to be enjoying it. easy listening i suppose. [ame] [/ame]
  12. i have the same trouble. it did seem to get better. the screw fell out one side so i went back to my old petzl helmet and my god what a difference. The ear defenders seem to clip down on to your head with a lot more pressure creating a better seal- have tried same ear defenders on the stein helmet and but i get the same problem. Maybe my head is not fat enough for the helmet!! But have not bothered getting screws for the stein and have probably been wearing the old petzl for nearly a year!!
  13. A little one up the road that they want down.
  14. Love the working Cockers, mental at times but lovely dogs. I always thought the lemon coloured ones were more likely to get the rage? And I think a previous post is bang on with they're comment about the kennel club. I will never buy a dog that is kc registered. They breed them to close meaning they get problems. Had a working Cockers in the past who died at 18 months and game keeper near me has said they have had a lot of problems with Cockers dieing young
  15. Just got back from the states where in had a siverado v8 petrol. Got similar fuel return as my diesel hilux. And it went like a rocket!
  16. Haven't used my 200 since I got my 150. Cracking saw. If I need anything bigger, usually dismantles I get the 550 up there
  17. Stoat ally. Friction cord in general terms is a consumable so some people replace them at loler time anyway. If you have second hanf kit that has no history then it can be lolered as most of the gear will be familiar, as in the examiner will know that the item conforms. Problems arise with the date of expiry as they will have to er on the side of caution. You don't need the serial number on the rope it just needs to be identifiable, can be anything ie mb1 or mb2.
  18. I thinking of giving it up! Electrician is the way forward
  19. another option could be sending it to an inspector, if their is not one locally.
  20. i would come down if there is a couple of kits that require examination
  21. One of the lads couldn't resist riding this into the bog against the advice of his peers. Tractor and winch job to get it out.
  22. Most rivers it would be the responsibility of the environment agency in which case it is masses of paper work to be one of three contractors on the framework. Canals may be worth a look thou
  23. Pm me I may have a stress control box. May require a bit of rooting around in me shed to find it thiu
  24. Good morning. LOLER examiner covering Devon Somerset Bristol and surrounding areas. Discount on multiple kits. Can be flexible, overnight or the week end if necessary. Obviously my aim is to pass your kit, it is likely that you would have retired any equipment that is not safe to use as you are the one with your life on the line.
