  1. Excellent stuff. Sounds like great customer service.
  2. how are you finding them? seeing as though you have it on two saws i take it you like them. oregon bar and chain? And did you notice any difference in cutting speed?
  3. sound advice. Plenty of savy clients out there an plenty of unsavy business owners
  4. i thought this as well.... a friend of mine was coming down and went to cut a stog off, didnt notice another brach behind that, and the top handle got him in the lower calf. Obviously this is down to safe use of the chainsaw but it does happen!
  5. A harness is more than just a bridge. I know it is a high wearing part and that is probably something that does get looked at it is the other bits that dont that are the worry
  6. Is any one running or had experience of running the low profile bar and chain on a husky 550? In the market for a new bar for said saw and seen the option. pros cons? durability? Narrower kerf makes sense can never fathom why people want to go from 325 up to 3/8 on as it will surely mean a slower cutting speed!? Cheers Mark
  7. Entirely up to you if you want to hang around in a 10 year old harness! As long as you make sure your groundie is not beneath you when the bridge snaps!!
  8. I suppose the only real point is so that employers are not making employees use kit that puts them in danger.
  9. so much material i would be surprised if it ever dies
  10. have used a brian james one with the tilting bed, no ramps, good trailer but did rattle me about a bit when empty.
  11. Its that sort of attitude that is killing my beer fund!!
  12. Wait they made you the tea!! Usually you make them the tea:lol:
  13. Look basically i do LOLER examinations. They are a pain in the backside and the prices i charge the hourly rate is crap. So i just as well be out climbing instead of getting square eyes looking at the computer screen and tiny hieroglyphics on the equipment.
  14. some truckmans fit over, like on my old isuzu. but on my hilux the rack needs removing
  15. Had autoglass out for a new screen on the transit. On time and quick and tidy job and thats even whilst being impaired by the Somerset cizzer!!
  16. Any news on the akimbo? Not keen on using friction cord with the rope wrench seems like a step backwards for me. Would be great to have a CE marked device.
  17. Think i need to put my prices up!!!!
  18. Wow Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. Somebody mentioned this before on the forum. I did think about it but the kayaking cags are expensive in the first instance and probably not tough enough to deal with the scrapes that we get in tree work. i Should Imagen it would be sweaty as well. Best thing i have found is the military goretex jacket that only cost £30.
  20. We have got a 241 running a 14 inch bar and it is a great saw, no trouble what so ever, if the 261 was the same but bigger i would give up my 550xp! It is my wife's saw but i have been using it recently as it is so light and really packs a punch for a small saw!
  21. Dragging up an old thread there. The common opinion amongst people i know is that the smock is not great. Waterproof at first, sure, but that doesn't last long and it is hot as hell to work in. Positives are it is indeed HiViz it is thinck and does not rip and the back is long and covers ya bum. I would not buy another one and i would not buy another Cut and Climb as mine has leaked around the armpits since new!! Have taken to climbing naked when it rains, at least i have dry clothes to drive home in!
  22. phone up saturn machine knives (same company or grounp of companies as norther arb supplies) i just gave them the make and model and they had a set there ready for dispatch! (i also have a jensen a528) Good service with sharpening as well- they pick them up from your door!!

    New Tipper

I think this is the crux of it- 3.5t are no good for arb work!! I had my old cabstar on the weigh bridge and i couldnt carry anything once i had tools and two people in. In the real world we are all just trying to make money with ever tightening regulations so inevitably we will be overloaded leaving the job. Keep the faith!!
  24. That is super camp loaded up with a chainsaw boot in each bag and the rest of my kit and lunch for the day! Can barely pick the bike up with the weight on!! Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app

    Emigrating

This thread is only making me depressed!! Interesting the views here a real contrast between people that 'can't' leave and those that have or are aspiring too. Spent a month travelling round California not so much the south but up west coast and up the north. Not so keen on the built up areas but mountainous areas especially lake tahoe- now that is a place i would like to spend a bit more time. It is hard to get a feel for a place unless you spend a long time there but i was glad to be back home.
