  1. Cracking advice mate, had no idea that model is outdated. For a pair of the 10r on Amazon for similar price so ill go for them, plus the earpieces are detachable for better fitting and cheaper replacement if I snag a wire. Cheers bud, I owe you a beer at the next show if I bump into you. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. Cheers mate, that's proper helpful. The model is the SMH10R-D on Honeys, which should be the same as the one you used really. The wiring diagram doesn't show any splits in the ear pieces though. If they don't split I could use my Alveo with the larger vents and hopefully pass the earpieces through from the inside. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. cheers guys, both look tidy. Its the newer model Neil, looks like the ear pieces could be disconnected individually in your video but not sure that's the case with the new ones. Failing that Don's method looks pretty solid too. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Has anyone fixed a sena comms kit to a vertex lid? Looking at getting one, but I don't like the idea of wires trailing behind the ear defenders. Ideally I'd have the wires exiting the helmet from inside above the ear defenders before going into the ear defenders, so that it'll be tidy when I clip the ear defender up on top of the helmet, rather than having the wire coming out from underneath the helmet up to the ear defender. It'd be pretty expense to snag a wire so it needs to be kept neat. Any advice welcome. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app

  13. Or you can get a micro wedge from honeys for less than a tenner, and attach it with a retractable keyring lanyard!
  14. Nah, Bronn is a sell sword... i think he'll be heading for the side with the dragons...
  15. You hoped they were? What's wrong with you!?
  16. Really though Jerome was ready to kick it last night...
  17. For a cheap and effective lanyard you can use a hitch with a cheap micro pulley to tend it. Don't need to buy a sewn eye to eye hitch, just tie your own. Will be a good starting point. Invest in "the tree climbers companion" by Jeff Jepsen, a wealth of knowledge in there to get you started.
  18. don't think I won't go through the extra effort for that special someone mate...
  19. nice to hear or another cling film user. I've heard that anything between the helmet webbing and shell is a bad idea as that's kind of the "crumple zone". I don't know how true that is, it makes more sense than any inaccessible pouch attached to your harness. To be honest I'd be interested if anyone could unwrap and apply any israeli bandage with its two layers of shrink wrap under a heavy bleed.
  20. I reckon that's it in a nutshell Tom. I'm a simple bloke so the app was perfect for me, everything I needed and nothing I didn't. There's no doubt that the new site is much more comprehensive, but it's been so long since i used the website is have found the old one strange, the new one is a big jump. Its not stopping me though. I'll be glad when the app comes out so I can just click on an icon and then I can start abusing people.
  21. Makes sense mate, you can pick up a minor first aid kit which is pretty comprehensive for next to f all. It's the "when it hits the fan" kit which I want and hope not too use. Are there any every day items which people carry? I've mentioned cling film as a good idea, duct tape is another one...
  22. Imagine trying to apply loose granules from 70' in the wind. What doesn't go in your eyes will vanish into the wind. Its not practical. The gauze won't go anywhere but the affected area, and is much easier to remove by the surgeons too. hadn't considered that, but makes sense. Its just far more efficient from what I can see, celox is one of the game changers in trauma first aid, but it fires nothing if it vanishes in the wind!
  23. I would have thought enough to treat 2 casualties would be enough. I'd be looking at 2 celox (gauze not powder), 2 israeli dressings, 2 cats etc, along with other handy stuff. Cling film is a real handy thing to have. It's a bandage, burn dressing and more
  24. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B071VNNJHZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_9_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1501415710&sr=8-9&keywords=personal+trauma+kit This one looks good. I like the idea of being able to keep emergency blood stopper kit in the removable mesh pocket and the other stuff in the box.
  25. I remember him. As i recall he monopolized the last thread with a constant closed minded rhetoric and far fetched stories of emergency tracheotomies performed with an 020 and speeding through peoples back yards in a shortcut to a&e. I hope this doesn't happen here, I've no desire to debate the finer points of "primum non nocere"
