  1. While i agree that's the smarter move, the milf client never wants to blow the groundies, so hey ho.
  2. Yes, you can use a dmm ring to avoid rope on rope contact, if you prefer. Apologies, just realised the OP was intending on using it solely for base tying. Just adding more to go wrong.
  3. You're still ring a knot with a quickie, dickhead. What's your preferred retrievable canopy anchor?
  4. Just get a Quickie. Simple and works.
  5. You know we're in agreement Bolam, but when you were "full time climbing" you were using an 020av. Don't bullshit us.
  6. You've got the gist of it, that's exactly what happened. Why don't you think it will be any better? Anyone who's ever used the stock setup vs the stihl one agrees it cuts quicker and smoother by a good margin. Try it. It's not a massive expense.
  7. Evening Mick, I'm so glad that I can be the one to enlighten you. This type of situation requires a certain level of special. I was field-stripping a saw that wouldn't oil. Suitably a 2511. Traced the issue back to a worn worm drive, which required removing the clutch to diagnose. To check that if I'd rectified the issue, i span the clutch back on and hand tightened it best I could. Didn't bother putting the side cover back on. I wanted to see if the oil was coming out of the oil hole in the clutch side. Started the saw up and revved it, with the clutch pointing upwards. The clutch promptly span itself back off and into the air. Instinctively i tried to catch the spinning clutch mid-air and burnt/sliced hell out of my palm/fingers. When i dropped it the sod span off over a car park and into oblivion. I put the outboard clutches back on differently these days.
  8. Agreed. Where does the liability end though. Can the new owner be held accountable for the previous owners choices? AFAIK the only way the council could enforce a replanting is through litigation, which they would have to prove to be a justifiable use of taxpayers money. They would have to be damn confident they would win and that litigation would be in the interest of the general public. Horrible optics if not. Personally I wouldn't have mentioned and thing, and wouldn't volunteer anything further. Don't do their job for them.
  9. Anything is a dildo if you're brave enough mate
  10. Get some carrot sticks involved. Solid snack
  11. It'll be worth it to see your willy again though.
  12. Power line: contact DNO and they'll either drop the line for you or do the work for you. Phone line: buy a couple of BT junction boxes, snip the line inside of the tensioning wire, unwind and stow. Reconnect after. Make sure it isn't fibre before you snip.
  13. After 6 weeks off paid. "Should we go back to work not for a bit before October half term?" "Nah reckon it's time for a training day" Work shy miscreants
  14. I might get qualified to assess for ADHD, reckon I'd clean up with you lot
  15. I grab the Rab cycling jackets from an outlet store in Derbyshire. £50 down from £110 Well fitting, waterproof, breathable and packable. Not too expensive to cry about if you rip them. I buy a couple at a time.
  16. This was the first one that i found hard, but then it was out of the blue/fine the day before. Having to explain it to my daughter and deal with an upset mrs was worse. Like you say, i was relieved when the barbituates went in and he was peaceful.
  17. Sorry to hear Alex, I've just had mine euthanised. Came home with severe head trauma. Hit by something fast. I'm not a cat person really, i wanted a dog and the mrs wanted a cat, so the natural compromise was 2 cats. That was 7 years ago. Didn't like the greedy shite when he was alive but i still found it surprisingly hard when the time came.
  18. @Rich Rule so you're not allowed optics of any kind? Irons only?
  19. SRT climbers also have much bigger willys, increasing the loading on the anchor point
  20. It's not often I'm for more red tape, but agreed on this, purely for some of the absolute scrap I've seen dragged behind vans (and dragged myself when I was employed). Dodgy wouldn't begin to describe some of it.
  21. That's okay, it wouldn't be the first time. Think is, my mrs can now legally tow 3.5t. She struggles to reverse a qashqai.
