  1. Modded any 201t's yet Spud? I've thought about getting the new flywheel/coil retrofitted to mine. Dunno if it would be worth it or not.
  2. I believe the 3120 has the manual oiler button which would be an advantage.
  3. Where did you pay £900 for a 460!? Bet they love you!
  4. Yet your spending your evening on a forum dedicated to trees?
  5. No one does tree work to get rich, we do it for the love of it. (And the endless stream of women) I'm in this career for good. If I can't be rich, then I'll make damn sure I'm good at what I do!
  6. Too true. Being a competent climber makes you more effective on the ground, being a good groundie can mean you're a better climber. Personally, I love doing both. If I'm on the deck I know what the climber expects, and when I'm climbing I make sure I do what I can to make the ground work go smoother. Basically, I'm perfect.
  7. I don't see the problem. The horn was working just fine.
  8. I think I probably do. I'll take a look tomorrow. If you PM me your address I'll pop it on the post next time I get a minute
  9. Not at all mate, I enjoy these discussions, was only pulling you leg (so long as I leave yer toes in place)
  10. And just like a Stihl, when it stops working, you're left with wood that you can't shift!
  11. Aaw c'mon, I'm dying to hear it. Can the lads on your team concentrate?
  12. I think I'd find a solid girl groundy intimidating. I've got a slight figure as it is! Unless you're into the type of girl that would push your face into the pillow, have her way, and wipe her nob on the curtain on her way out...
  13. Mark has an app to control his climbers from his iPhone. Some people still live in the dark ages using climbers capable of independent thought. These are the ones who smoke and eat cake on their gentle stroll back from the chipper. Makes me sick. On a serious (rare) note, well done pal. Very few industries like this. Take Stubby, in the golden years of his lifelong career and still enthusiastic about it. Work hard and be polite, if you ever find yourself not doing something, ask. There will be something to do . Good luck!
  14. I've always found that chains only end up blackened like has been described when they are being used dull and forced through timber. The extra friction causes the fine dust from a dull chain to mix with the oil and harden onto the cutter plates with the heat. A good sharpen, and some clean timber should clean the chain. Failing that, put them in a sandwich bag with some WD40. I only oil my chains if I've sharpened them and plan to hang them up for a while before use.
  15. The Yale XTC is a far better alternative for 13mm. Lovely rope and cheap.
  16. I could fold a bar out of corrugated cardboard and it would be better than that!
  17. And people said I was crazy when I put a dry suit on before I lit up! Who's laughing now!?
