  1. By the way mine fitted I always assumed it was a penis warmer.
  2. Out of interest (and I think you know where I'm going with this)... What were the reasons for reducing this tree?
  3. His chainsaw use far exceeded that of some people I've seen..
  4. I love "Can you stop the Cavalry" by Jonah Lewie. He sounds almost as depressed about Christmas as you bunch of misers. It's almost satirical! That said, if my presents aren't up to scratch this year I will lose my shiz.
  5. I recently paid 180 for an 056 Super. It lean seized on its second day with me. Parts aren't readily available, it's heavy, slow, basic. I'd agree with £50. Maybe £100 if it's proper mint with a decent bar and chain.
  6. Hmm, I'll wait until it's stood up to the test of time... ...and then I'll still buy a Husqy. That 441 is lovely on a 20" though!
  7. How many times have you used it?
  8. I just offered Lizzie some of my "Newton's Man Chilli"... I owe you a slap.
  9. I doubt they'd have let a fox through the gates. Brad Pitt would have looked really silly jumping out of that.
  10. They don't work great in the rain either, but nor do glasses. They also tickle my long feminine eyelashes too on occasion. Still miles better than glasses or visors though.
  11. Worth asking the council who they use? If not I'm sure P. Betambeau could point you in the right direction.
  12. Those are the ones I have. Really rate them
  13. I make chilli with the cheapest pack of beef steaks I can get my hands on, cut into thick slices, with tomatoes, onions, kidney beans, and spices. Mix it all into the pot the evening before. Next morning just put the slow cooker on low before work. The best thing is the smell when you open the door after work. I now look down on anyone who makes chilli with minced beef. Pansies.
  14. I wear safe eyes mesh goggles from Clarkes, instead of a visor. IME glasses always for up. These don't, and are far less cumbersome than a visor.
  15. How much?
  16. Oh? Do tell?
  17. Excellently put mate.
  18. But if he doesn't do it someone else will... I guess it comes down to professional pride.
  19. Do you find it hard to deal with people who's opinions differ from your own?
  20. Not to the TO, and unfortunately he sets the spec. As above, the spec is not always ideal, and the TOs are far from infallible, but at least there's something in place to prevent the wanton felling or mutilating of trees that have been there long before houses or us.
  21. SRT? What's that?
  22. You should be aware of a protected tree when buying a house. If you don't like it, don't live there. Do you think the same of listed buildings? And yes, I believe that were it solely up to the homeowner, many great mature trees would be butchered, because the leaves land on the new block paving, or the electricity bill is too high because the lights always have to be on, or whatever crap they come out with.
  23. Well for starters they're designed for the hulk. Honestly, I'd be scared to see the person that could fit into them, I have had to do them riiiiight up almost to the limit, and I wear my saddle low! Wore it on Saturday and today. Not had a big saw hanging from my harness yet, but it stops it riding down, and you don't really notice it's there, apart from the occasional rubbing on your neck. I'll probably keep it on even when I don't really need it there, since it's a bit of a faff to set up. In short, I like it. For the price however I'd take a look at the petzl one as well.
  24. And how many mature trees would be left unraped in this country were it not for TPOs and TOs? You don't have to agree with the TO's decision, but you can either appeal it, or get on with what you've been allowed.
  25. Good luck finding a decent big saw for a reasonable s/h price. People tent to hang onto them. I would buy new if poss.
