  1. Christ! This gets confusing. I bought the stuff cos you and Stubby wouldn't shut up about it, so I assumed it must be good. In over my head now! I love the smell, reminds me if Speedway. Just a pain that it doesn't come in metric bottles!
  2. I get it. I bring my saws to work, cos they're fun and well maintained. I won't use the company fuel though, as I use the best petrol and two stroke oil I know of, and I mix it myself, with no crap in the can. I am quite anal about saws though.
  3. Apparently they can't very well
  4. That's why I bought it. That and the fact they were 2nd hand from a member on here Sod paying £60 though, easier to make your own. I'll update when I get something meaty, and not the hedge raping I have this week.
  5. Well no wonder the warranty won't touch them then!
  6. So on that basis if you repair your own trousers, the buck stops with you? One repaired rip and they're void? I suppose the best idea is not to void your trousers then...
  7. The slot for a caritool is also good for felco 2s on the TM, just don't lean backwards in that direction, you'll get shivved.
  8. Can anyone help? Got a 2nd hand top harness for the TM today. Haven't got a clue how to fit it. Can anyone help with a photo? Google comes up blank.
  9. Woah old timer! To much information!

Have you emailed them telling them this? I'm sure they'd be very grateful, and probably feel daft for not realising!
  11. I can vouch for this. My 357 has has Spud's best work done and it's just brilliant. It pulls an 18" bar great. I've put a 15" bar with an 8t sprocket and it's mental. Overkill probably, but that's why you get a saw ported I guess. You won't regret it. I might mention that you'll also get your saw back cleaner than Richard Hammond's teeth.
  12. I don't find it politically incorrect. If a person was so offended by this countries part in the war, than why live here? Moral hypocrisy.

Good to know, do you mind my asking what the Dolly cost new? Maybe I shouldn't have just got a 441!

Bold claim, Tom. Impressive if it's true. What's the weight like compared to the 460?
  15. Haha I doubt the last one was a complete pleasure, but I do love it. The saws in question are all fine, I'd just rather be proactive than reactive when it comes to maintenance. You'd have been impressed with the amount of gunk I removed from the clutch cavity of the works 460 yesterday...
  16. If it's long enough I think it's safer to use as it provides a fast means of descent should you need it. Or we're you planning to use it to rig down a pole? Not so good for that
  17. Glad you picked up a good'un Bit of advice if I may? Spare yourself the mick taking, and call it a bar, not a blade. Every other homeowner asks me if I sharpen my own blades, not their fault, but if you're using a saw with any regularity you should really know what the basic bits are called I'm being pedantic anyway, please let us know how you find it.
  18. After leaving a cushy job green keeping for a private school, to work for a tree company, I stumbled into the bath, hung my head in my hands, and asked myself what I had done? 3 years on and I love my job, I've gone from ground work to climbing primarily, I strive to improve myself and couldn't imagine another line of work. Stick with it and don't get downhearted!
  19. The 135 seems to rev it's little tits off compared to the 181. Fair enough it's got a bigger engine, but for the same weight the difference is noticeable. The problems are the crap bar and chain, and I don't like the silly master control, or the fact it doesn't like to stay running or warm start.
  20. Good to know there's nothing at fault with mine I like the anti vibes. Very fast and smooth on 20". I'd never run anything bigger on it.
  21. And if I am is this a design fault with the saw? Or just a new line needed?
  22. I've done the exhaust. That's where my engineering prowess ends unfortunately. Just wondered anyone had taken it a bit further and what the results were like. In the new year I'd like to get 3 of my saws checked over and tuned by you when you get the time
  23. Been using an MS441 today, pretty nice on a 20" full chisel. But if the saw gets ever so slightly pinched (pretty much every cut when chog going down) the revs seem to increase when I pull the saw out on idle. I wonder wether pulling the saw out is stretching the impulse line due to the AV flexing?
