  1. I thought the grease would burn off before it caused slipping. Ill clean and degrease the shoes and clutch and see from there. Shoes look to be fine. It really hasn't worked hard.
  2. Any idea what could cause a slipping clutch on a 211? Chain stops in the cut but the revs don't slow by much. Funnily enough I've just had the clutch off to clean out behind it. I greased the needle bearing, wondering if a bit of excess grease is causing it. I'll clean it up again without grease and see
  3. I have the new pantin, and it's fine. I use 11mm blaze, but it works fine on 13mm hi vee too. At first it clipped out on occasion, but it was down to poor technique. Oh, and I'm 23 stone (when aroused).
  4. To be fair you both did well to get that far. In my opinion.
  5. If it was lighter it wasn't the new 360
  6. I think it involves a new flywheel/ignition coil. Possible different carb too.
  7. If you can stretch (and I'd really try) I'd buy a 560. 15" is fine on the 550 and it might be all you need for now, but trust me, pretty soon you may wish you had a bigger saw. The 560 will run a 15" and an 18" very happily, and will save you buying another saw in the future. Much cheaper overall.
  8. Husky 372xp will be good on a 24" and great on a 20. Stihl 461 is the equivalent, though a touch heavier
  9. 4 days in hospital. Tough lad. Glad he made a full recovery, I'd love to know the whole story though. I've not heard of a harness failing before.
  10. Effortless!?!? They're fantastic for the right person, but you'll know about it if you've been using it for a while. They are miles ahead of any other saw I've used though! I'd pick it up over a powered pruner any day.
  11. Silky Hayauchi. Tallest one they make, replaceable blades. Deep heat and physio is an added cost when using them at full extention for any length of time.
  12. Christ! This gets confusing. I bought the stuff cos you and Stubby wouldn't shut up about it, so I assumed it must be good. In over my head now! I love the smell, reminds me if Speedway. Just a pain that it doesn't come in metric bottles!
  13. I get it. I bring my saws to work, cos they're fun and well maintained. I won't use the company fuel though, as I use the best petrol and two stroke oil I know of, and I mix it myself, with no crap in the can. I am quite anal about saws though.
  14. Apparently they can't very well
  15. That's why I bought it. That and the fact they were 2nd hand from a member on here Sod paying £60 though, easier to make your own. I'll update when I get something meaty, and not the hedge raping I have this week.
  16. Well no wonder the warranty won't touch them then!
  17. So on that basis if you repair your own trousers, the buck stops with you? One repaired rip and they're void? I suppose the best idea is not to void your trousers then...
  18. The slot for a caritool is also good for felco 2s on the TM, just don't lean backwards in that direction, you'll get shivved.
  19. Can anyone help? Got a 2nd hand top harness for the TM today. Haven't got a clue how to fit it. Can anyone help with a photo? Google comes up blank.
  20. Woah old timer! To much information!

Have you emailed them telling them this? I'm sure they'd be very grateful, and probably feel daft for not realising!
  22. I can vouch for this. My 357 has has Spud's best work done and it's just brilliant. It pulls an 18" bar great. I've put a 15" bar with an 8t sprocket and it's mental. Overkill probably, but that's why you get a saw ported I guess. You won't regret it. I might mention that you'll also get your saw back cleaner than Richard Hammond's teeth.
  23. I don't find it politically incorrect. If a person was so offended by this countries part in the war, than why live here? Moral hypocrisy.
