  1. If you can use mechanical advantage or a ratchet to tighten the stems together you might be able to introduce enough slack into the bracing to adjust it.
  2. Doesn't have to be. They can lift far more than what they weigh close in with outriggers and counterweight.
  3. A 100t crane will lift 100t @1m from the centre of the boom.
  4. It always amuses me when people retire climbing rope and put it into rigging, under the assumption that "it's never been shock loaded" is the only factor. I'll accept using old climb line as a tag rope, but rigging rope really isn't expensive. Why would you risk it?
  5. Guarantee you won't find a pair lighter or cooler than my SIP Progress Type 0s...
  6. What more are they guilty of other than criminal damage? We've got convicted rapists being freed after less than 3 years. Luckily since they're both white heterosexual males in the UK they'll probably get the death sentence.
  7. Pretty much all ART devices these days have 10 year lifespan for hardwear and replaceable wear parts. I'd expect the same from this. When I was climbing mostly MRT, I'd get 12-18 months from a ZZ before it was worn to the point of slippage. That was climbing daily with a thin rope and pulley friction saver, so the ZZ links took pretty much all of the weight. I thought that was pretty decent value.
  8. He's mugged you right off!
  9. But did you knock him down on price?
  10. Theres a space for one I'm training on 12th-24th May if you're quick.
  11. Give Dan at MediArb a call. He's got a couple running this month. They'll be based in Atherstone but there's a few local b&bs if you need.
  12. If a climber turned up on site with that dangling off his harness he would instantly be written off as a twat.
  13. If you can't push it over either get a rope in or climb higher. Rattle wedges for climbers are just fleecing money from the easily influenced. When was the last time you knocked a top over with axe and wedge?
  14. I have a 2100CD I could let go if the parts would fit.
  15. I know and agree. Doesn't mean I can't make a joke about you fancying him though.
  16. Best make sure you wear your "special occasion panties" to the next APF in case you bump into him, if you'll pardon the pun.
  17. Agreed. I used parenthesis in the hope that was conveyed. Sounds like someone needs another 200t to rebuild. I can help.
  18. The only reason I wasn't banned in my early years is probably because I looked young and knew how Bullman liked it.
  19. Le Sanglier was probably the only "troll" I found funny.
  20. My mistake, I remember two prior accounts. I thought they were both pretty funny for whatever it's worth.
  21. I'd expect not! It took a few bans to get you posting under your own name 🤣
  22. I bet those slender wrists make it look massive in the hand
  23. I know you won't enjoy giving your hard earned to the Arb Association, Alex, but I think you'd enjoy reading the Technical Guides. There's a lot of insight into industry best practice (you can pick and choose the bits you agree with) and I've found a few surprisingly pragmatic parts.
  24. I didn't read the link, but you might be right. On reflection the D shaped and pear shaped crabs position the load along the spine. The ovals are primarily for aligned orientation.
