  1. Love my 441 on a 20" and my 661 on a 30" When the 441 goes ill probably replace it with a 461. Blinding saws all of them.
  2. Show off When I grow up I want to be just like you...
  3. Good in theory until you've got to slip a whoopie over big unions etc. Don't get me wrong. I use what ever kit that's available. I'd use a dead eye personally though.
  4. plus you can tie a cow or timber hitch with the rigging line still through the block. I reckon I fancy my chances time wise.
  5. Fancy giving me a days work? I'll drop the bugger through the garage and quote you on that...
  6. Cow hitch where there's enough rope, if not then a timber hitch.

out of interest what makes you a very good groundy? I only ask because I've seen a lot of people come in on trial for various companies claiming to be at the top of their game and its usually disappointing.

I was talking about subby basis. I forgot to mention, qualifications mean next to nothing. Just a foot in the door.

The way I see it a solid groundy is worth £100 easily. A lot of people bitch about not being able to find a decent groundy but won't pay more than £80. If you can manage a site, liase with clients, drive and operate/ maintain equipment etc then possibly more. With only a years experience though I reckon you'd have a way to go. Personally I'd rather pay another decent climber a good rate, and have them running the ground.
  10. But sir, he started it... That'll ruffle some feathers!
  11. why just on the books? As a subby my time isn't free? I arrive and leave the yard inside reasonable hours!
  12. James, could you not have turned around and drove back to base, thereby committing no offense? I'd be challenging that if I were you.
  13. He also thought about stopping for a few pints and then speeding to make up the time.
  14. Sounds interesting Tony, what's the strength like? Wine that we buy here seems stronger than a few years ago. When I was in Croatia the owner of the house we used made his own red in his garage, was very light for a red and was served chilled. Really refreshing.
  15. The Teupen Leo 23 is the one I've used and its pretty impressive. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. Its it good for reductions? [emoji1] Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. One our the companies I sub to owns a pretty decent mewp so it gets used when its convenient. It's usually down to the climber if it gets used or not. It can make life easier if not quicker sometimes. Recently did a job trimming small shrubs where it was insisted on as the site safety officer wanted proof of "ladder training"! Bizarre. 18. I've done practically no stump grinding, but I've used this grinder a couple of times. I wouldn't want to take out a bit tree with it but it was surprisingly capable, without much effort. Fairly easy 2 man lift as well for steps etc. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. there you have it OP, Mark had made a career out of this. You have no excuse Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. So what are broken fence panels and dropped phone lines? Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. A while ago the company I was working for used to flyer a few houses either side of the clients. They got a fair bit of work from that, especially nice trimming work. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. thanks for taking the time Alexandr. Good job. Not quite sure what that adjustable zipline redirect accomplished, as if you set up your slings in sequence it has the same effect. Got the job done anyway! I almost didn't watch it because of the click bait title! Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. Just had a look, the basic kombi engine with trimmer comes in at just over £400, around £200 cheaper than the basic 4 mix long reach! Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
