  1. It is. I'm intolerant by nature and every time I see someone dragging their feet or prattling about my stress levels spike. I'm working on being more loveable though!
  2. I wouldn't say that was too much to ask. I take exception to the non-smoking part but then I would. He's not asking for loads of qualifications, just a decent work ethic. Does seem difficult to find at the moment though.
  3. Does it? Only for insurance purposes really.
  4. You're both maniacs! It's 4x! To be honest, I've never checked. I've had tails under 1cm before and I'm still here. Hitch cord doesn't last long enough to faff about taping tails.
  5. I'd second the above. Comfort wise they are similar fit to the HiFlex, but lighter, stretchier and a helluva lot more robust. I did a review on this site a while back. I'll find the link. For the money I doubt you'd be disappointed. Edit: http://arboristreviews.co.uk/reviews/arbortec-breatheflex-type-c-chainsaw-trousers/
  6. In a nutshell. They almost never bend, either.
  7. You filthy git! Let's see who's got deeper pockets: and employed climber vs a northerner
  8. Good man Steve. I'm currently winning I don't even need a 3rd set!
  9. No criticism from me mate. Good job considering how hard it was cut. I'd imagine an adamant client? There will be plenty along to stick the knife in though!
  10. Proper rape and shape I do wonder just how much good those remaining growth points are doing though!
  11. Apparently this is a common problem. People often walk into the phone shop and accidentally leave with a Samsung.
  12. Nice fell. Out of interest why did you leave branches on the first one? Must have involved changing your strops over.?
  13. Usually on a brand new lanyard that I've just spliced and stitched My last one I picked a single strand (not cut) about halfway along. Had to go up the line of the rope with a penknife every turn to pull the strand straight again!
  14. That's another way of saying "Silky"
  15. To be honest unless it's really cold I'll just get wet. Keep a spare t shirt and hoody in the van. If rather be wet and cool than clammy and hot. If it's cold though, the cut and climb is great with just a t shirt underneath. Mine ain't so waterproof anymore after two years, but it's tough and keeps the worst out. I'd still call it good value for money.
  16. Most people spend as much time working as they do not working. Isn't it important to enjoy the time you spend working too? I've never got the penny pinching approach to work.
  17. Between 8am and 4.30pm weekdays. You can prune them on Saturdays too, but only if it's cash in hand.
  18. Is he one of yours Steve? FWIW I've been after rescue drills for a while now. A person shouldn't complain about doing them.
  19. I'm having a beer right now! You never asked mate! I have a rule of thumb. I give myself one beer per conny killed. Tonight is a seven pinter.
  20. What's yer biggest saw ?
  21. What kind of lengths are you after? Whereabouts are you based?
  22. Exactly. How many of you ride a Penny Farthing to work?
  23. Cheers Rich, that looked like a cracking job! There'll be no space for a crane that size, and not much space on the drive. It's on a busy road so the street is out. To be honest we'll enjoy rigging out the brash. It's in decline so it's not very busy up there. Just to crane the timber and have someone pick it up will be nicer than cutting 4" discs and trying to shove them over the decorative wall and block paving that's been built around the tree
  24. Nah, mine was rubbish How many times you won the lottery now Hodge?!
