  1. I reckon there plenty of blokes in the same situation who won't even admit it to themselves. It's important to get a handle on it before it becomes a problem. I think part of it is subconscious. When a person drinks to excess most evenings they don't feel good about themselves, and don't have the motivation to get up and start fixing it. It's a perpetuating cycle. Glamping is a great idea. If you can provide heated huts/yurts you can bring people in all year round.
  2. More likely dripping from the sprocket cover, so store them recoil side down. Or just empty the oil tanks.
  3. Seems like the first thing to do is cut down on the booze mate. Not having a pop, I go through phases where I drink most night, and have to snap myself out of it. Not only will you be more motivated, more energetic, and more pleasant to be around, but if you're drinking the equivalent of say a bottle of wine/4pack of beer each evening that's almost £150 a month! A garden centre near me sells Swedish Candles for £15 each! Rather than rely on one way of earning you extra income, try lots. Advertise "collect your own firewood", domestic hedge trimming, etc. Best of luck.
  4. Not saying that it wasn't well executed, the bloke is obviously very talented. There seemed to be a lot more going on than there needed to be at some points though!
  5. It's a fun vid, for sure, but there was a lot going on that seemed over complicated. Tip tying limbs 80' up and pulling them over? Could have been butt rigged. What was with the crab and Munter hitch with the climber controlling a piece? Obviously I don't know the site, but it seems like someone was playing about!
  6. That's about the size of it. I don't reckon the thread was about the quality of work though, more the ability/methods of climbers.
  7. It's not all about money though, is it Andy ? We'd all be investment bankers otherwise. It's too easy in this job to get stuck in one mindset, bomb it out or go slow for the groundies etc. I get satisfaction from choosing the appropriate pace and killing it.
  8. I'm the most average climber out there.
  9. E3 for me
  10. You're my favourite punter. At work we call you "quick off the Mark"...
  11. I know, I just can't afford that many socks and t shirts, and lizzie is frankly lacking on the washing front.
  12. Cheers, you just put me off my cream pie.
  13. Haha "poplar cavity" would surely be, well, popular. It's funny how many people expect a lad to graft their balls of and not smell.
  14. I wear the same socks and t shirt all week long. The lads I work with are lucky if they don't get a sweaty cuddle on Friday.
  15. I'd rather my passengers smelt of 2 stroke and b.o than of a poofs armpit.
  16. Thanks for explaining. All the worst points of a smoker. Come to think of it there aren't many good points for it...
  17. Fair play. I have a strict "no cocaine after noon" rule. Helps me sleep at night. And to prevent this post from being a derail: grafter with a positive mental attitude. The rest can be taught.
  18. It did, for a week. Then I got wasted and it went on the shelf for a while.
  19. By the way, Hodge, care to justify the non smoking stipulation? I just couldn't let it go
  20. It is. I'm intolerant by nature and every time I see someone dragging their feet or prattling about my stress levels spike. I'm working on being more loveable though!
  21. I wouldn't say that was too much to ask. I take exception to the non-smoking part but then I would. He's not asking for loads of qualifications, just a decent work ethic. Does seem difficult to find at the moment though.
  22. Does it? Only for insurance purposes really.
  23. You're both maniacs! It's 4x! To be honest, I've never checked. I've had tails under 1cm before and I'm still here. Hitch cord doesn't last long enough to faff about taping tails.
  24. I'd second the above. Comfort wise they are similar fit to the HiFlex, but lighter, stretchier and a helluva lot more robust. I did a review on this site a while back. I'll find the link. For the money I doubt you'd be disappointed. Edit: http://arboristreviews.co.uk/reviews/arbortec-breatheflex-type-c-chainsaw-trousers/
  25. In a nutshell. They almost never bend, either.
