It's the same nationwide, and it's all academic. It's as if having a bloke who did four days training on site is a "get out of jail free" card. My harness first aid kit contains a roll up and a dirty magazine. If I have to use it, I want to make it count.

Beg your pardon Sir. I forgot how clean you worked. How many days a week do you have a second climber who is competent in rescue with a spare climbing kit, rescue accessories etc? Thought so. Mind you, all rescuing you would involve is four quick steps... ...up a ladder!

I'd use whatever the smallest ground saw you have is for climbing. Harness: £150 45m rope: £110 3m prussik cord: £5 2 carabiners: £25 Climbing lid: £50 S/h spikes: £60 Total £400 Plenty left over to play with. Cut 5m from your main line for a lanyard. 3m of hitch cord should make 2 prussiks.

I'm the opposite, I've recently gone from 11mm velocity and blaze to 11.5mm Tachyon Not sure if I like it. Feels bulky.

Fair enough, but you're a tree bloke, who knows and understands this. Many folk might not even realise, but most would be open to discussion at least.
