  1. No, the metal is passing over the rope so fast that the rope doesn't absorb heat. The crabs do though. You must have used a speed line before? I just use steel screw gates. Cheap and strong.
  2. I've owned his "Lilly White Ass" for 15 minutes before. Money well spent, though it's cost me a fortune since in medical cream
  3. If you've spent £300 what's another £200 on 25 slings and krabs? They'll come in handy
  4. He's right though. Well not 500. I've never bothered with a haul back zipline. In my experience to make that system worthwhile you need to take big bits, and it's not always easy to do that when your zipline is anchored high up on a skinny top. I have about 12 slings/crabs which I'll zip down and get sent back up. On that job 20 sounds more like it.
  5. Rubbish. You're too young for Arthritis and too good at what you do to leave the industry! Mind you, if you do leave there'll be one less better climber than me in the UK. How old are you mate? It was pretty gutting reading that, since you seem to be at the top of your game and really passionate about it. Are there any treatments that might help you? I got the impression there was more to your post than just physical problems. You could always get a job with one of the prestigious training company's, getting paid a bundle teaching spotty know I talks how to climb, and occasionally climbing the really good trees in the country when you fancy it!
  6. You shouldn't need saw trousers for cs38. For cs39 you'll need type c
  7. I'd say 25" was the very limit. I tried mine on a 25" for cross cutting and it was painfully slow, so it now runs a 20". Consider that milling is a lot harder on a saw that cross cutting and I reckon 25" will be too much, unless you buy a skip chain. It'll still be slow mind.
  8. Hi Andy, glad to hear you're making progress. If you don't mind my asking what kind of factors do you feel contributed to your heart attack/stroke? Age, lifestyle, diet etc. I realise this is a personal question, and possibly inappropriate even, but I'm asking because I wonder how many of us could be heading down the same road. Myself, I'm 26, pretty active at work, but nicotine, coffee and beer/wine are 3 of my major food groups. My cardio is pathetic and my eating habits are erratic at best. At 26 I always figure I can get away with it and that I'm too young to be running into serious health problems, but I guess most people feel that way until something proves them wrong.
  9. Is it a secret Jon?
  10. Whoever is suggesting Marlow rope is not a good friend.
  11. If that tree is 90' then I need to get me one of those three story sheds like in the picture!
  12. No good if your rigging line has a crab permanently attached by way of a well loaded fishermans knot!
  13. Taken from the Fire Service Motto: "stop, drop and roll"
  14. I can see this thread going on and on...
  15. I've seen both makes of car push into queues...
  16. Over sharing on Facebook? Either extremely personal or just banal. "just off to the shops lol" Also the use of the "word" hashtag. It's a sodding "hash". That's it! No need to say tag!
  17. To hell with this, it's just easier to make the motion with your fingers!
  18. Stop baiting him mate. It's not becoming. I don't much rate the saw to be honest. It's cheaply made and underpowered compared to pro saws of a similar cc However if it does what you need then I hope you're happy with it.
  19. What's the difference? Have I been using words beyond my understanding again?
  20. *ahem* Quiet down now Bob, I'm due a LOLER inspection and if they fail my favourite hitch cord I'll be holding you responsible!
  21. Does it matter? If it's in parentheses it's clearly authentic!
  22. I love it. I asked for a price for a reel and it was £180 including VAT for 25 metres. I was sorely tempted but trying to explain to Lizzie why I spent close to £200 on something I'll just throw away would cost me far more...
  23. When it gets to that point, pop it in the wash and it's as good as new! I doubt I'll ever get as sentimental about chucking a used cam away as I do with my used hitch cord! I only really use Armor Prus so I can't afford to throw it away as and when,
