    Hiab Trailer

Decided to check it today, 120kg with trailer empty and the crane out over the bed. Loaded isn't a problem as we can load where we want to even it out. I was told when I was looking into buying it that it was legal, but the ideal tow motor was a landy, got to admit i'm a bit surprised it isn't heavier than that, it doesn't like going behind my Ranger.

I have one with a bonfiglioli 3500 fitted on a tri-axle, Nose weight is ok but you have to have the crane unfolded as far as poss to the back when it's empty, my engine is in line with the crane though so that takes a bit more off the drawbar. Very useful bits of kit though, wouldn't be without mine now. If interested I would be asking if it has or ever had a test cert with it. Mine has far more strengthening plate work running down the chassis.
  4. I get quite a lot of turf laying work and usually shift it onto a couple of the landscapers who we supply. I still lay some of the smaller jobs myself but for various reasons really want to take all of the jobs on myself but can't manage it on my own. So am just putting this up to see if there is anyone out there locally who would be interested in odd days work as and when needed firstly to help me out but could lead to more if you were competent enough, you would need to be experienced with leveling and rotavating as well as turf laying. Your work would need to be to a very high standard, none of this work is site work. Most of the work is in north east Essex, if you think this may suit you and are interested please PM me
  5. You can either buy the domain from the webhosting company you use or buy it from fasthost or the like and point it to your webhosts DNS I use 1and1 for hosting as they have the best uptime and backup out of the few I have used and use domainmonster for the domain names
  6. I am struggling to see how they will get away with that one if you are towing and on a standard licence. Just a whole load more useless crap to put up with, bought in by incompetent morons who don't actually live in the real world Rant over
  7. That's the reason I had thought not to do the cpc
  8. Cheers for clearing that up. Really? so 4 ton towing or 4 ton truck, how come ? I thought the max combination with a landy was 7 ton. not that I would want to try 7.5 ton, it struggles like mad with 7 ton.
  9. Nice one Glad to hear you have got it back, it don't happen too often.
  10. Out of interest If the truck goes up to 3500kg will it decrease the towing capacity by the difference ? I would be surprised if the gross mass was increased.
  11. Dean at global for standard or green teeth
  12. are you actually running it at 1000rpm ? if so try it at 540 as that again could cause cavitation
  13. Woocommerce has quite a few delivery options, but because we deliver by postcode area and order value we had a choice of buy the woocommerce add on which it quite pricey or do what he did. There are more options now to buy add ons cheaper at places like codecanyon, I don't think it would be easy for a novice to do from scratch. For normal delivery methods there is probably an option in the standard version of woo.
  14. We use a wordpress site with woocommerce plugin easy enough to set up although the eldest son did have to write a special plugin for delivery options and charges as we couldn't find one suitable.
  15. You bought a homelite ? It looks like it has actually run at some time ? that's definitely not right for one of those.
  16. That clears that up, Thanks Completely different to what I was lead to believe. It appears not, as quoted above
  17. If you got your HGV licence before 2009 and you don't do the 35 hours before the september deadline then you have to take the 4 part test to be able to carry on driving. Edit: I would rather give up driving than do 4 part test, I left school years ago.
  18. Hope you don't mind me adding to it Land rover workshop manuals
  19. cpc acquired rights 9th september is when you need to have it sorted by
  20. You can let your HGV licence expire and claim it back at any time, mine ran out 5 years ago but I went for my medical the other month sent the forms of and it was re issued. Now for the stupid CPC
  21. There are lemons in all makes My first new landy was a complete pile and I got rid after 6 months, left them alone for a long time but the last 2 have been superb trucks, more comfort would be nice though. But then I have also had a new hilux that needed a new transfer box after 2 weeks, then an IP at 70K A new ranger that spent nearly 6 weeks at the dealers with various faults A fourtrak that shredded it's gearbox at 60k and another new ranger that has left us by the side of the road 3 times due to electrical faults If the landcruiser pickups were available direct here I would imagine I could probably see me using those instead, that said landy parts a easy to get and decently priced unlike when I ran the toyota's Everyone to their own imo
