  1. We have been doing a bit of paddling along the stour in suffolk recently and was wondering the same thing. There are quite a few down along there at the moment.

  3. you actually eat that ? I would bypass the stomach and put it straight down the bog i'm glad i'm a looser looking at that
  4. could be made up fairly easily from a manual one, with a bit of money
  5. That looks like it could be a handy bit of kit, vestil husky is another but it weighs virtually the same as my crane. when I looked into them they were insanely expensive for the electric version
  6. The clangers, Tiswas and the dying fly, rover P6's, simca cars, mott the hoople, my lotus pedal race car. Helping my dads mechanic fit plugs and points to cars for a few pence. Going to dad's wood mill and building things for my brother to test for strength by throwing them off the top of the office stairs. Standing outside the pub with a bottle of coke in bethnal green high street whilst grandad played cards inside. They were very good times to be a child imo
  7. If the bolt is too short then no washers If it is too long use a washer If it's still too long use a washer either side. And if it's still too long use one either side with a spring washer. Simples
  8. And sadly very little of it for the better imo It was bliss when we stopped at the phone box twice a day to see who had phoned for the next days orders and wasn't constantly available on the phone and actually managed to get on with the work. Along with all the advances has come people under more stress. I remember well when we bought our first tractor mounted turf harvester, which was bliss from the walk behind machines and all the back break it involved, now it's all computer controlled multi head auto stack machines.
  9. I would/did go the new chassis route, at least you can work easily on the old ones without all the electronic engine management gubbins, and as said above it won't devalue much if at all either.
  10. couple of months and I will be able to officially come in here and whine like the rest of you
  11. Are they the 195 50 r13 or 185 70 r13 ? First is a smaller over all diameter, personally I wouldn't go that route as we have enough trouble with 12" tyres on the tipper and crane trailer getting ruined when going up kerbs due to the tyre profile being too small, 195 is even smaller profile. If they are 185 they are a bigger diameter, I might consider putting a full set of wheels and tyres that size on the crane trailer to try see if they are better up kerbs than the 12" currently on it.
  12. haha so much conflicting information. I thought I needed a cpc to tow a trailer behind the landy so went to book myself in, and was told this "when driving the truck you are driving on category B, put the trailer behind and you are driving on B+E, CPC is only for driving using the C category so I don't need it" Obviously I can't drive lorries for gain until I get a CPC but am happy that was cleared up.
  13. We now use lc packaging for our printed bags
  14. Dinitrol 3125 for the cavities and the chassis, then cover that with dinitrol 4941. Have used waxoyl in the past but would not go back to it after using dinitrol in the above combination, but a lot more expensive.
  15. Weather is supposed to be pants here tomorrow, but if not then I hope to get out on the bike tomorrow.
  16. If you aren't taking much on cards a month then the paypal type things are a good idea, but once you start putting over a certain amount per month through them then they become a very expensive way of taking card payments at 2.75%. One other thing is that I have someone I can contact without push this button push that button if we get problems. We also take customer not present payments, which I am not sure you can with the paypal type machines., but did notice that if you key in card details manually with paypal they charge 3.4% commision.
  17. I think they all try and rip you off, it has taken ages to get them to replace a faulty gprs unit, but in general they are ok. I will probably move when we are due for renewal, and will likely go with sagepay, who were very transparent on their pricing, they were a bit vague on the price of pci compliance though, which is why I didn't go with them this year.
  18. Could be a faulty refill, Some cartridges now have to be primed after refill and might not have been. Failing that try this Nothing wrong with refills, I have refilled inkjet carts myself for years without problems. For all office work we have an oki colour laser and oki b&w laser, the colour has been using refill toners for the last few years. Genuine laser refills are pricey when you add in all the other bits like opc belts lasers can be expensive to run, but print quality is far superior imo, no good for decent quality pics though.
  19. Nice one Congratulations
  20. I am with cardsave/worldpay and streamline, use a gprs unit and have done the pci compliant thingy. sign in on the pci portal and then there is a help number, phone that and they will tell you how to do it. Takes about 10 minutes to complete as most of it is irrelevant. If you leave worldpay/cardsave be aware of the 12 month rolling contract you probably have with them
  21. I drove my 130 about for ages as a chassis cab, even got the mot like it. Just needed mudguards lights and number plate
  22. Is that silver on the right size tyres ? they don't look right Take the durado up the road and try it would be my advice, it looks a nice tractor though.
  23. I seem to remember an issue with the front wheel centres being a bit flimsy with a loader on, I would imagine that has been sorted now. We used to run a blec 10ft seeder with all the extras and that weighed about 1500kg, it lifted it fine but needed 4 front weights to keep it down on the front. The only thing I found with our durado was with the smaller wheel diameter compared to the explorers and silver it bounced about a lot on the road to the point where it was really uncomfortable some times.
  24. Do you mean durado 85 ? I have run several an 80 explorer, 90 explorer 2, durado 70, a lambo 130, and had a 6 cylinder silver on hire. They have all been exceptionally good tractors except the lambo which had been abused from new and I had to spend a fair bit getting it back in order but once done was a good tractor. The brakes are excellent as they brake on front and rear, in general they will stop you pretty sharply. Watch out for the loader size on the durado, I know of one that snapped in half because the dealer fitted too big a loader to it. I would have thought a durado would be an excellent tractor for fence work, the 6 cylinder is probably overkill for the job, our durado was so economical on fuel it was unreal, when we hired the silver in it drank derv, although was working hard on a stone burrier. I still have the 90 explorer 2 and it has nearly 10k hours on the clock, still runs sweet as, but we only use it for forklift work now. Doubt you would go far wrong but as said above make sure it's had regular filter changes. Has the durado got the power shift thingy box ?

    Hiab Trailer

Crane at the back would probably be too light on the front I would have thought, and if it's up front you may be able to unload the truck as well provided it isn't too heavy a load for it. I was told that fitting cranes to them will only work properly with a tri axle trailer.
