  1. I'm still thinking tulip as first guess. What do people think to that. Never seen one that big though
  2. Yeah. Next step was putting a saw to it but didn't have one with me.
  3. Probably around the 30"mark diameter I guess.
  4. Pretty sure it's not Ash. Thick bark. No evidence of bark beetle. Wrong colour timber. Thx though
  5. Someone asked me to come and look at an oak to mill. It's not oak. I'm thinking tulip or pop of something but don't know. Any ideas? Cheers guys
  6. Might even be his mums house or something. Go easy on the guy. Always nice to be nice.
  7. Thanks alot for this guys. Will strip it and see if the pot will clean up and go from there.
  8. Hi. I have an 024 that runs ok but has a scored piston and cylinder. Thinking about replacing them but can't find oem parts. Any suggestions on which parts to use? Cheers James
  9. I like it. Lucas mill rips it up no problem. I'll be interested if it looks good once felled. Cheers
  10. I would say Bar mis alined to guide rail. Not that familiar with the m8 but I would be spending some time with a straight edge and shimming some bits out.
  11. The issue will always be chip removal. Long drag on a 5ft log to eject it while the tooth is making more all the time too. I've always been happy with the cutting speed of my lucas slabbing attachment on big logs. It is a bit slow on small logs but that is my fault for not using different chain.
  12. If you get rid of the root ball, tidy up the stray branches, I'll mill it. I will happily leave you a slab and all the sawdust. [emoji4]
  13. I was under the impression that the dedicated slabber cut at much the same speed as the slabbing attachment, just with a slightly bigger Width of cut. The advantage of the slabbing attachment is being able to switch to the circular blade and my favourite thing is my planer head for the lucas. Planes wide Slabs really easy and quick.
  14. Top work. Very nice Hope thick is the top?
  15. Dual is great.
  16. Looks like we all did
  17. My moneys on sapele
  18. I like eco poxy. Best resin for tables in my opinion. Available from axminster
  19. May also be interested in this if it is available.
  20. Beat one I reckon is ecopoxy. Available from Axminster. Not cheap but its great to use and gives a great finish.
  21. Nice looking plane butts Jeremy. They for sale?
  22. True enough. I'm sensing a lack of enthusiasm from your end?
  23. Carvers love lime.
  24. If you want to make rustic dig like the pictured table. Garden benches and tables etc then you can achieve a good finish with a belt sander. Of course big jointer and planers would be great but very few workshops can joint and plane 2 foot wide boards. Rustic self milled Slabs. Rustic finish furniture.. Easily achievable for most people who are sensible enough to be able to use an alasksn.
  25. This sort of thing
