  3. I imagine the same way they police the rule that every climber must have aerial rescue on site in the uk.
  4. When we got ours, in my opinion it was the A530 but I think at the moment you cant much beat the forst.
  5. I just recently had a client, in a round about way, ask for a finders fee because he recommended me to another client. oh how I chuckled.
  6. We hire in a torro dingo from time to time, I think it awesome, stump grinder attachment is crap though.
  7. Please see attached. Note: "All wild birds(1) are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended), whilst they are actively nesting or roosting. Section 1 of this Act, makes it an offence to kill, injure or take any wild bird, and to intentionally(2) take, damage or destroy the nest of any wild bird while that nest is in use or being built. It is also an offence to take or destroy any wild bird eggs" Bird_Nesting_Advice_Note_1.pdf
  8. I'm about to become a father, in about 8 days or so actually, and as the son of a single father who worked his arse off my whole life, I have this deep rooted fear of turning round and finding out my kid is suddenly 16 / 18 years old and I've been too busy with work to spend any time with them.
  9. I had an issue at the start with time zones and syncing calendars but this was easily fixed in settings. have no problems now. same as any tool, it has its limitations but it has some very handy features. every Wed night or so they have a live forum so you can discuss problems, I had my issues solved in 10mins.
  10. Not arbpro but i have started using jobber (similar but not arb specific) and so far find it fantastic.
  11. as a VERY rough basis: you need to be charging at least 3x your wages bill.

  15. NO WAY!!!!! my dads got chickens.......... oak chip you say............ interesting.
  16. There's a mountain of info on this in the forums you just need to do a bit of research, I did it a while back great source of info. Basic, set up would be, get hold of the biggest saw you can and kit it out with an alaskan mill, you can go as simple or expensive as you like. Chainsaw mills
  17. not ideal, but put the bag on a pallet and tip it forward. mixed success.
  18. coil your tirfor cable into a wheel barrow tire. much nicer for chucking about.
  19. This is a photo of me, and probably a good example of what not to do. my main attachment point is my side strop (not wire core - which in my opinion is fine) my backup is my main climbing line, which is hanging below my feet - this should be much higher or even better choked off. I would do this by attaching a krab to the spliced eye, make sure you set to load the spine not the gate.
  20. "Fell and re-erect" - ??? ".... consider felling" - Ok, considered it.... not going to bother thanks, that'll be £600+ vat please.
  21. speedline_variations_1.pdf speedline_variations2.pdf
  22. we would get hung if certain people knew what we've rung up for logs. Shhh don't tell them.
  23. I've got the oxdale se400, had for a couple of years now. for what it is,no real complaints. It had to have a new oil tank fitted as one of the weld seams split but done on warranty, It lacks a bit of grunt for dealing with real knotty pieces or tough pieces of dead elm etc. counting the days so I can get a tractor then get a good PTO jobbie.
