  1. not really mate.
  2. An oldie, but immaculate underneath, not even an oily damp patch anywhere, been well looked after. and still half the insurance payout to squirrel away. (for future repairs)
  3. Giggidy!!!
  4. I love them, perhaps one day. Actually, probably not, would build my own!
  5. well thats that, sold my soul and gone over to the dark side.
  6. I was going to buy a cheap stump grinder like this, but after trying them out i will keep on hiring in until i get the ££,£££ together for a proper machine, i.e. Rayco Manufacturing in my honest opinion, £1500 is going to get you a cheese grater and is a waste of time. I would rather hire in and do the job in less than an hour than spend half a day+ wiggling a wee machine on top of a stump.
  7. I dont think he says that 1 log is worth £1200, clearly you don't see the rest of the timber. if not I'm going to have to have a serious look at my log pile!!
  8. Bushnell - Trophy Cam
  9. i would be thinking about taking the 1-2k and buying a better, high efficiency stove, my stove can burn for days without having to relight.
  10. what's the point of any of that if the build quality is a bag of cack? when i asked people who had greenmech in the past all said they were let down by this and wouldn't have another, so, yes... shy away.
  11. it was fears about things like this that made me shy away from Greenmech,
  12. right hand - left hand wrong

been looking at this for a while MASSEY FERGUSON 135 TRACTOR in Coupar Angus, Perth and Kinross | Plant & Tractor Equipment for Sale | Gumtree.com
  14. old motor bike disks. bend rather than crack
  15. well that's me out of my first set of rods, not a natural talent but think i'm starting to get the idea - get the current set just so, so you are just more or less 'laying' the rod down at the right speed as it burns. welding brake discs together and then testing by jumping on them is actually more fun than i would have imagined.
  16. well i couldn't see anything through that dark glass, so i binned it.
  17. well, it was niggling at me, so i went and bought it anyway. its a 55-160 amp 'turbo' fan cooled arc welder. I'm off to the shed to burn stuff.
  18. Tonco 140 AMP Oil Cooled Arc / Stick Welder 230volt | eBay is this what you mean, i could only find this one?
  19. Oxdale SE400 - does the job, struggles a we bit on knotty stuff, but not bad considering its run by a wee petrol engine, good buy for the $$$$
  20. my mate was a pro welder and used to do bits for me, he gave me a couple of lessons, made me weld two long bars together full length repeatedly so i could get a feel for the way it 'flows', was mig. might just get the arc, at 40 quid cant loose as long as it works, and just fool around with it.
  21. really want to get my first welder and get some odds and ends done round the yard with the aim of eventually being able to do repairs to vans, trailers etc. after a bit more experience. Aldi have an arc welder for sale at the moment for 40 buck, seems too cheap no? always had in my head that i would want a mig, what i've used (twice) before, am i right in thinking that a mig is better for doing more delicate work like panels on motors etc?
  22. wo there tiger, who said anything about dying, we're talking about staying hydrated, not dying of dehydration. I was trying to point out that if you hydrate properly as part of your day to day life, like say a long distance runner would, you can under go longer periods of work with out THIRST becoming too much of an issue, but if you start your day with pee like strong tea - your loosing the battle of staying fully hydrated. steady there, did some one snaffle your biscuit? the OP started the thread by saying he struggled, i was offering some advice, not trying to sell him isosuperdupertronic water.
  23. The trick to being well hydrated on the day starts well in advance, every night when you get home (over the course of the night, not in a one'er) drink at least 2 pints of water / weak squash, on your days off supp water continuously, if your pee is ever yellow your loosing the battle and need mair water. if you hydrate well in advance humans can last quite a while without taking in water, however do not underestimate the effects of even slight dehydration on concentration and fatigue.
  24. last day working for a company and i put a 3ton digger into a septic tank, who lets these things get over grown with grass anyway? the operator was no happy bunny when he came back from his piece.
