  4. apparently.... check to see if there is water in any of the light housings, even the interior ones, this can cause electrical probs and set off alarm.
  5. SWL = what doesn't make me sweat and that i got away with in the past. MBS = no intention of finding out! simple rule of thumb that applies to all my kit.
  6. ................that their dead.
  7. when i cant sleep at night, instead of staring at the back of me eyelids with a head full of broken biscuits i read, i read a lot, in particularly stressful times i read till i pass out, the wife switches out the light and marks my place. completely clears my head, i'm into the game of thrones series (7 books in total). fill your head with wars and fighting and shagging, but not for everyone i expect.
  8. I priced a job where a couple of guys had gone daft round the woodland strip along a golf course, must have been 30-40t easy, mainly scots, but the nuggets had every thing cut into 3ft lengths.
  9. offt! nice but 70k anyone?
  10. generic RAMS, COSHH assessments, chemical data sheets, H&S policy statement, cert of competence for all equip used, first aid cert, emergency procedure and contact numbers, EL&PL insurance cert, copy of up to date LOLLER assessments, CSCS, some of the things i have in mine and have been asked to produce (on development sites mainly)
  11. nah mate, "never buy the first one you see" ringing in my ears. aye your right, couldn't figure out where to put my right arm. pretty decent nick for 2000 reg though, mechanical sound, wee bit of tin worm inside the drivers door at bottom but over all - no bad like. got a couple more to line up for a viewing.

  15. Landy ho!! off to have a look at the first one, who knows.
  16. they were probably much smaller in 1963 when she was last in there.
  17. there's wheems o freelanders out there, what are they like in the real world of work?
  18. Landcrusers appear to be the same as hilux's - high mileage late 90's model for 2-3k or 10-15k+ for a newer model
  19. dont think i want to buy it back, 125k on the clock and pretty serious oil leak had me thinking of a new motor anyhoo, dont think hilux is an option personally, looked into it when bought l200 and either too old or too expensive, l200 was a bargain at the time in comparison to hilux & navara. don't really like the fordies, not heard great things about them. thing is i don't really need the motor for every day use so quite like the idea of a defender to use as tractor basically, just for towing mainly when required.
  20. Just been informed that my L200 warrior has been written off after a fight with an............. ahem! mini cooper. Good news is I get to choose a new motor but what? tempted by defender but dont seem to get much for around 6k ish. what would you go for? must be 4x4

    Poplar wood

    great kindling.
  23. looks like i may have to go through the small claims court to get monies owed. does anyone have any experience of this? how easy is it and is there I chance i could end up out of pocket through it?
  24. I dont know about others but when i did mine ages ago the return rate was about 1 in 100, 100 flyers = 1 enquiry. So you need to post tons of flyers to make it worth it. i cant justify cost vs return so dont do it any more. (and thankfully don't need to)
  25. Phone these guys - Britcar (UK) Ltd I got about 10 from them for about £15-20 couple of years ago
