Are you talking about climbing trees for fun or for work?
  2. current mode of transport is a shiny new hilux invincible hire car courtesy of my insurance company after my L200 had a fight with a mini cooper.
  3. woke up to a foot of snow this morning, todays job on university campus so cancelled. you know what that means............. PAPERWORK!!!! YIPPEEE!!!!
  4. my one looks exactly like this one, mine was rated a 1t pull, there's no way in hell it would pull a 4t dead weight. also to get "1t pull" you have to double the cable to use the pulley/hook and as the cable is only 1m long that leaves you with less than 0.5 m pull, ok you could do some jiggery pokery with ropes but a massive pita. by the time you get full tension in the system you've run out of cable.
  5. I bought one, find it fairly useless. tried it a couple of times now sits somewhere in the back of the container slowly dissolving.
  6. just put 5 hrs on our new A530, best 6" chipper i've ever used
  7. obviously my sarcasm radar was switched off, been a long month so far! sorry mate.
  8. That's the scariest solution to to this problem I've read on this thread so far. Id rather climb it than do that.
  9. Eco plugs?
  10. How much would you charge to plant a tree on a highway? bearing in mind: a) traffic control measures may have to be employed. b) all staff trained & qualified to meet LA requirements. c) purchase and storage of material, potentially 1000's of units.
  11. cheers guys, I wizny far oot.
  12. what do you guys run at. i have LWB crew cab tipper, went to check tire pressure and realised i have no idea what they should be set at
  13. Ty, it may not be the thing for you but the best thing i ever did was to bail out of my failing partnership and go it alone, it was hard i had to start again from scratch and also especially since my partner was one of my best friends and more like a brother. at the end of the day i had to do what was right for me and my family, when i look back at the stress i went through and the wasted time my only regret is that i didn't heed the signs earlier.
  14. Makes me laugh, people jump to conclusions without any information other than the trees were pruned. ach well, awbody kens better.
  15. fair comment, but how do you tow chipper and full trailer of chip??! least with a transit (etc.) you only need 1 vehicle.

    Cscs

off the top of my head, all in about £30-50 ish per person. takes time to get sorted though, you have to do a construction site H&S assessment first. but by rights if you are working on any construction site every member of staff should have one. every site we have been on recently have asked to see ours and probably wouldn't have let us on site without. and they never ask if you have one right up till the moment you arrive to do the work.

    Cscs

in my experience constructions sites just want to tick the box, we all have basic green cscs cards and never had any issues getting on site.
  19. my uncle is always mooching logs, he lives in woodside, 27 large would sort him right out, might be a bit much tipped in his driveway though is the biomass plant next to the paper mill not up and running yet?
  20. I was on the phone about insurance the other day and the guy on the phone said his company deal with, on average, 1 chipper theft per week. thats just one company. scared the crap out of me.
  21. can you light a fag aff it??
  22. i dont get to go as often as i like but try my best to get to the indoor wall twice a week, hopefully we get a decent summer this year, would like to get out more
  23. Nah, head down power on, if your going to be in it up to the balls might as well go head first.
  24. There's only one way to sort this out................................... FIGHT!!! so many problems in life could so easily be solved with a good old dust up!
  25. 6 day weeks, absolutely knackered, expensive pile of bills, huge pile of out standing invoices, ever decreasing bank balance, tick tock tick tock
