  1. Exactly.
  2. Like the ones in your avatar?
  3. I dont need pegs to make me feel safe, You've got to be tactful where you leave the pegs so nothing gets hung up, I like having a peg to take the weight off the spikes and much more comfortable for cutting, and i like to have my rigging block above a peg where poss, like some one said before the dangerous thing is slipping and falling not the pegs. more than one way to skin a badger.
  4. Unlikely if you leave pegs every few feet.
  5. I cant really understand how you would be in a situation where you would plough a 066 through your flip line? not accusing, just curious, I'm always super cautious when working with big saws in this situation.
  6. 201t mate
  7. no, I'm attached with my side strop and backed up with main line
  8. point well made...
  9. we got onto the topic and he suggested that he thought i was a fool for not using a wire core, he's obviously one of those guys who thinks his way is the only way, I'll let him crack on with that one. This is me "at it"..........
  10. Today i got greiff from another climber because I CHOOSE not to use a wire core flip line, never have. now i know i'm not the only person on the planet to do this, but curious if most others do?
  11. I think every new start should be made to try and smash 3 trees into a trailer and then get it out again, only then will they truly realise the true value of the chipper!
  12. Best post looking for work I've read on here - by far. Hope you get something. I'm sorry, but I'd have to hit that lass with a stick.
  13. when you cut down a Hemlock and a Scots Pine way down the bottom of the garden, make sure you carry out the Hemlock rings and leave the Scots for everyone else!
  14. If you like you could pop along to Dundee and have a rake through my stick pile to see if there's anything of use
  15. I'm a member of a trusted trader scheme and they expressly forbid cold calling, and i don't like it either way. I get some good work from it as its a well known and advertised scheme run by the council.
  16. It's bloody pricey for an old winch that's what it is
  17. yir brothers side looks better.
  18. kin yi drive that aboot, withoot it collapsing in a heap?
  19. not really mate.
  20. An oldie, but immaculate underneath, not even an oily damp patch anywhere, been well looked after. and still half the insurance payout to squirrel away. (for future repairs)
  21. Giggidy!!!
  22. I love them, perhaps one day. Actually, probably not, would build my own!
  23. well thats that, sold my soul and gone over to the dark side.
  24. I was going to buy a cheap stump grinder like this, but after trying them out i will keep on hiring in until i get the ££,£££ together for a proper machine, i.e. Rayco Manufacturing in my honest opinion, £1500 is going to get you a cheese grater and is a waste of time. I would rather hire in and do the job in less than an hour than spend half a day+ wiggling a wee machine on top of a stump.
