  1. Any one interested in this. Southwest Countryside Contractors: Brush Cutter Operative, advertised with CJS. I worked for them for most of last summer, and had a blast. Alan is a top bloke and will treat you as well as you deserve. Mostly rights of way stuff.
  2. People seem to think that because the bags are biodegradable, it's fine to do this. It really is not.
  3. If you get a surgeon in to give a report, your landlord could well argue " of course he recommends the work being done, because he wants the work". Try an independant consultant instead.
  4. When you could still get sodium chlorate without flame suppresants you could drill some holes in the top of the stump, fill em up and cover with some plastic. Come back a month later and light a small fire on top of the stump and a few hours later, stump gone. Alternative option here. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/video-forum/59463-redneck-ingenuity.html
  5. Na, I'll just go with green flag or something next year.
  6. Look at the battery life and the cost of spare batteries. Then there is the cost of a gennie to charge said batteries, and the fuel for the gennie. Get a petrol saw.
  7. Clutch slave cylinder on my Defender let go on the Norwich ring road. Seemed an easy fix and I was about 2 minutes walk from JSF (the local landie guys). New slave cylinder £35, all looking good, until, whilst fitting it I noticed that the pushrod that sits behind it didn't seem to be attached to anything. Phoned the RAC and told them I would need a recovery. They said one of their guys would have to come and look at it first. I said no point, I know what's wrong with it, they said one of their guys would have to come and look at it. I pointed out that since I knew what the fault was, and that it could not be fixed at the roadside, could they please just send a recovery wagon. 2.5 hours later they turned up, and an hour later the RAC guy decided that, yes I had bled the system through properly and that it couldn't be fixed at the roadside. Then all I had to do was wait for the recovery vehicle I'd originally asked for. Goodbye Thursday, I would have liked to have known you better.
  8. Horse or Sweet?
  9. Too bloody hot to have spent 6 hours sitting by the roadside waiting for the RAC. Even the dog was peed off.

    Swap.

    Anyone?
  11. I think that the reason the link wont work is because Simon's website has a plug-in that runs in 32 bit mode, most operating systems now run on 64. Try putting it up on youtube or summat. Bloody nice photography on there though.
  12. Done.

I'm looking for a 3120/088/090 or similar. I've got a 372xp which is nearly brand new, I've had it 6 months and it's had about 3 tanks of fuel through it, just don't seem to have much use for it. I don't mind parting with a bit of cash for the right saw.
  14. Made me grin.
  15. P&P is £2.50 so it's already more than half the price of a full bottle. Would love to see the winners face when they go to buy some Stihl oil to put in it.
  16. Well it could be true, apparently they make for better soldiers. Pentagon Study Finds Beards Directly Related To Combat Effectiveness
  17. I had a bad back once. I'm immune now.:001_tongue: Try Magnesium oil for the long term, seems to hold off the worst of the aches and pains. Also, I bought one of those memory foam mattresses a couple of years ago. Bloody expensive, but worth every penny.
  18. This post would have been fine if you'd stopped at the end of the first sentence. I don't think this thread is about blame, it's about respect.
  19. Just heard it on the radio. Terrible.
  20. I don't think I've seen anything in that post that suggests he's after anything. Or have I missed something?
  21. Like it, and I think it should work just as well on my Logosol Big mill. Thinking about it, it may even work better. because when I have it in Pro mode, rather than LSG, The Jigs actually slot onto rails, so no issues with the saw riding up.
  22. Wouldn't have anyone on a job without relevant tickets. No one gets to use any machinery without tickets, be that chainsaw, chipper, atv, brushcutter etc. If I find you working without PPE you're gone, if I find you doing anything stupid, you're gone, if I find you using machinery without a ticket, you're gone. I simply can't afford to give my insurance company an excuse not to pay out in the event of an accident.
  23. They turned up in my village a couple of years ago. Went through all the gardens and stashed the stuff up in the churchyard. Lad up the end of the village (a chippie), woke up at 4.30 and went down to put the kettle on. As he was filling the kettle he looked out of the window to see some bloke peering in through his workshop windows. He opened the back door to challenge the guy, and was told "F*** off, or I'll F***ing do you". Being a sensible sort of lad, he went back in and shut the door. Meanwhile his missus is on the phone to the police, who tell her there is no one in the area, and it could be an hour or more before anyone can respond. The thieving **** outside is still trying to get in the workshop (can you believe it). So the homeowner unlocks his gun cabinet, loads up and goes back out, screaming blue murder. His missus says to the police operator, "Oh it's OK, they're going, my husband is now chasing them up the lane with his shotgun" Within 5 minutes there were 4 police cars in the village. Funny that.
  24. Felling, felling, felling.
  25. If you got kids, you can pass it on. Like I said. BULLET PROOF!
