  4. should be good. always found their engine driven chippers niggely but had a pto model and it was bombproof. only down side was the vertical rollers causing twisty branches to wallop across the legs if you didnt keep well to one side
  5. i welded long 1inch thick bolts into box section. i can vary the track by running spacers\washers either inside or outside centre ( fitted 6 inch wide wheels) at narrowest width securing nut is almost flush with rim
  6. PTO driven?
  7. husky fine for ground work, with chipper spec muffs. big improvement on cheepo

  13. 2 greenmech chippers were stolen last night from a contractor.
  14. wow! that takes me back. only ever seen one county with that cab (chieftan forge, i think) and fiskars crane. almost bought it off a sawmill in durham called mounters. really nice people very honest about faults etc. had porous engine and bad rumble from gearbox. was tempted to buy and fix. i wonder if mill is still going.

  19. my chipper is 1800kg. i have only carried it once on my 6400 with roofmount. lifts it no problem but a bit giddy on the road. 6cylinder would be steadier but along with crane and mounting brackets etc its a lot of weight on the back axle
  20. any idea how much trailer would be without crane ?
  21. 141 is a 12inch chipper. 12x14 opening. 240 is 10 inch. 10x12 opening
  22. should be good, i,ve got a240 built for crane feed. very good chipper , quite heavy to carry as feed hopper really well built so extra weight far back. a141 would be awesome if your tractor is heavy enough
  23. friend of mine has intermechanto shear head on 2.8 ton kobuta, from m large i think
