  1. dry timber could be 35 metres or more
  2. 25 ton. fresh spruce around 27 cubic metres
  3. used to have one of those. weighed it one day at a quarry we were working at, was 3550kg with 2 lads and gear. could carry massive load of chip too.
  4. pretty good. as strong as you could build it without making it heavy. tipping body is very well made. weve always loaded it by hand and had mini digger or roofmount at road to unload. might fit tubes to sort tyre issues
  5. i,ve got one of those. have never tried the crane though. pretty well made but easy to unseat tyres if you take a sharp lock with full load on.

  9. thanks, got a price of 400euro (around £300) from trailer dealer. nearest tw dealer is over 100 miles away

  12. axle beam cracked badly and mudguard fell down onto tyre today. has anyone replaced complete axle ? is there much difference between tw dealer price and trailer parts guy? thanks

  15. hi. we may be felling and reducing a lot of douglas and noble fir in 2 weeks in a small mixed forest. mostly edge trees and trees too tall to straight fell so the timber will not go anywhere near covering the cost of the job. has anyone on here any experience of harvesting noble fir foliage? i have a customer for it provided he is happy with the quality. just wondering if its worthwhile. if it was it could become a small annual income for the client from his forest. any imput/advice would be appreciated. thanks

  17. cathcart,s enniskillen nothern ireland, have an amazing stock of parts for old stihls
  18. they make a combi one, where you can add another section if needed . choice of engines and attachments. we got a husky 2.5 metre polesaw for very same purpose and am very happy with it
  19. we ran 3inch aluminium box section around top surface of bonnet to carry saws etc. (jensen a328) recently added large ammo box for grease gun tools & spare blades

  21. am fairly handy with digger and have owned diggers and can hire at really good rates. but can earn more per hour doing tree work than what expert owner operator will charge me so i just hire good digging contractor and keep cutting trees
