  1. I made one once in my forestry days. Worked fine but quite heavy. Proper one is made of higher quality steel, very strong for it’s weight . nowadays can earn the £42 quicker doing trees and buy the proper tools
  2. Masons have a trailer 6 inch sheisling pto chipper with only 50 hours done. more money but top quality and less stress on a small tractor
  3. Shhhh !
  4. Aren’t STHIL the Chinese fakes that the travelers sell? i prefer husqvarna t540 myself or stihl 201.?
  5. Iffy limit switch on one leg maybe? or poor connection, corrosion etc?
  6. Yes. Did it with a transit once. worked well but some petrol fumes in cab. . Need to have a good seal between storage and front and separate ventilation. maybe store petrol etc in side box
  7. Nice part of the world, I bought a log splitter out your way I think.. niall in proarc, cornamona. I'm over near the Galway roscommon border, east of tuam. Same village. Good splitters.those.
  8. S o c, Are you near me? West of Ireland? Think I saw work you did in Ashford castle on here.. Hi Connor. I’m west of Cong
  9. Have also been keeping an eye out for pto chipper similar budget, 9 or 10 inch. We could sometimes use an extra chipper and have a second tractor that’s not used a lot. For that sort of money it’s probably not worth selling even if only used occasionally. Branch-logger sounds like a good idea
  10. Think you could have got a few spoonfuls more in green trailer ?
  11. Off from actual tree work 24th to January 2 unless there’s emergency work. Lots of maintenance to do plus bits of farming etc. nice short days with no travel or hassle. I have often regretted working through Christmas when it was over, I find it good to get some time away from trees staff etc before getting stuck in to another year.

Turns out cylinder can be cleaned up. where can I buy piston?
  15. Sounds like a good find.
  16. Major were importers of LASKI woodchippers and Stumpgrinders for west and maybe all of Ireland. they had a Stumpgrinder as you describe on display for ages in their agri-factors store at their factory in Mayo. Would have bought it if I had money and big grinding job at same time. Was at good price at the time, maybe 9 or ten years ago. I’m pretty sure Greenmech used to sell same machines in their own nAme at the time
  17. Is it worth the risk of falling out with with neighbors ? sure you are in the right but the stories that get around are never accurate. you could end up being branded as putting in reports because you didn’t get jobs. Your other neighbors could get wrong impression. it would be different if not so close to home.
