  1. My wife has a friend who is always "stressed" and "really busy" or "manic at work" she's not of course, it's just that we all feel the need to declare how busy and stressed we are because that's what we are told we must be! All these magazines and papers telling us how to deal with our modern hectic lives. Too much navel gazing these days. I often wonder if they ever ask those women in those hellhole factories in India working 15hr plus days how they switch off or if they are stressed. Not a dig at any one poster just my musings on it.
  2. Poplars maybe/probably, not convinced willow would as much (away from the stump itself)
  3. got an 090 Simon? You've never mentioned it before:001_smile:
  4. My 066 does this occasionally, rips the cord out my fingers, just figured it was normal.
  5. Go on then, give us a laugh, explain yourself.
  6. I used this helpline and they were very good, whittled it down to a relay problem.
  7. My brother in law has shown me a great app. Plane finder. you get a map on your pad with all the planes on and what height they are, where they came from and where they're going, brilliant! Any recommendations for other (non tree related) clever apps.
  8. Too expensive.
  9. Firm but fair.
  10. Give the starter a light tap with a hammer, sounds daft but its worked on mine.
  11. There are no TPOs but as for forestry felling I don't really know, sorry.
  12. Good shout, try jumping it.
  13. I"m pretty sure Felix you will find a thin strip of usable bark somewhere, I am also pretty sure that tree will be dead in the short term.
  14. Now that is a good idea! (Try the bark thing as well though)
  15. Sorry Peter Glyphosphate is also a stump killer extrordinaire, drill some holes, put in neat. Obviously if its washed out as in this case you're snookered.

Yuck! About the only decent thing about LRs is they look good, that doesn't.
  17. I was holidaying near the canal du midi last week and believe it, they are dying off in large numbers.
  18. I certainly agree with you there! This "fell, replace or nothing brigade" Utterly bewildering.
  19. How many people on here use a bungee to hold the throttle open/closed on their TW? Probably 8 years and counting!
  20. Funny you should say that, literacy skills are actually more important now than ever, what with FB, forums, the rise of the internet etc. people are writing (albeit on a keyboard) more than ever, certainly more than 30 years ago.
  21. I never said they were, I said it gives the impression of being so, that's not taking the pee, it's a fact.
  22. Very common here for precisely the reasons you stated, they don't muck about with little tickles and suchlike. Difficult to argue with their reasoning. (Though I'm sure someone will make a fist of it!)
  23. Yes it matters, the fact is if you put a post up littered with mistakes you give the impression of being a bit...you know, thick. We can all get stuff wrong and it's not clever to point out errors (unless they deserve it! And, I confess I may have done it in the past) But it does matter.
  24. I always consider the acceptable level of punctuation/grammar to be mine:001_tt2: any less and you're an idiot, conversely anyone who corrects me is a pedant. He who lives by the sword and all that...........
