  1. Well it made me laugh anyway:001_smile:
  2. Yeah, I wanted to say that about waiting to save up and losing the advantage etc. but When I wrote it I did not seem to make sense.....you're right though:001_smile:
  3. Should appear underneath.
  4. Thanks, I'm on it.
  5. How do I do a signature? It's not obvious to me!
  6. "Profit Erosion" like that:001_smile:
  7. Too right say a chipper will cost 300 a month over 5 years to finance, that's 75 quid a week, you are surely going to make more than that extra every week?
  8. Is that the one where the gearbox let go the day after you bought it?
  9. My 560 is the best new saw I've ever bought, phenomenal speed, light, excellent. Don't know about the equivalent stihl, I own plenty of 'em 200,201,271,660,076,088. But The 560 is an absolute joy.
  10. Gets you off the hook does it?
  11. 400 quid for a hydraulic thumb for the mini digger.
  12. Oh right, get it now. Still hate 'em though. (still hate 'em though) Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. I had a 130 and the weight distribution is surely worse than a 110 'cos there is more over the rear axel. I have had 2 hiluxs a Navarra and a ranger, and they have all been brilliant and reliable, The LR was known as "the witch's curse" I spent fortunes on it but it was like painting the Forth Bridge. 14. Agree with all that, you forgot unreliable, my advice, as your primary chip carrier forget it.
  15. FairPlay to him, for a first timer that was pretty ballsy.
  16. Sounds like you wasted your time anyway. On these little jobs I always just figure out the price on the spot, write it out in a duplicate book, rip out a copy and hand it to them. Obviously on bigger more complex ones you need a bit of thinking time. Anyhow good luck on the next one:001_smile: Like the man said "can't win 'em all"
  17. Did you ever find out what it was?
  18. There's always debate on price and this is the latest. I reckon you have put a day or so on this and priced it accordingly, your competitor reckons they can knock it off in a morning leaving another job in the arvo. He was possibly a bit hungrier. 'Tis cheap but there you go. Anyway what do you mean "approx"?
  19. you know, that's actually a good point/idea.
  20. All I can say is that down here they all thin out a bit at this time of year. Dropping loads of brown and yellow leaves, the foresters hereabouts say that there is a fungus that's killing all the coppiced. I dunno, lots of trees drop or at least show a bit of heat stress at this time of year. Did you get those pics?
  21. 4wd is great for towing trailers because reversing is a lot easier on the clutch.
  22. They deserved it, rubbish pitch, no figures.
  23. Well, this is going well!
  24. I cannot wear any footwear without socks, it just feels wrong, much to my wifes despair! S&S..... I've not got the guts, but I salute those brave souls.
  25. entendu, I'll look into it.
