  1. Ok milling boys! I have a job to do which involves dismantling and felling 8 cedars. nothing enormous all single stem the biggest maybe 2 and a half feet dia the smallest a foot. It's right next to a road so easy to collect. I have a sawmill/firewood merchant who collects my stuff in these circumstances and I'll get him to take them this time. My questions are, is cedar sought after as milling wood? I usually let him take stuff just for the convenience, and there is enough money in the job to give it away, or, should I get a decent drink off him? Cheers in advance...Mick
  2. Go to the search facility, type in "show us etc" et voila:001_smile:
  3. Get it modded! It's like a brand new 200 with the aid of a 6mm drill bit.
  4. Fwiw if you were keen to retain the tree I'd say reduce and cobra brace the two stems. Cost, 500 odd for the reduction, 200 maybe for the bracing. Just my 2 penneth worth.
  5. I like it! I get a bit fed up with all the reductions on here where you can hardly see the difference. Foe me this is a lot better, meaningful reduction leaving a nice shape.
  6. That's a perk of living and working in London I guess. I used to spend upwards of a fiver a day in garages on ice creams, hula hoops, coke etc; difficult to resist in that mid afternoon gap.
  7. Tea and water during the day. Beer and wine during the evening.
  8. Used my modded 201 in anger today on a couple of dismantles. It's the way forward.
  9. Don't know what PUWER is, noise seems only slightly up.
  10. I just took a drill and put two holes in the outer casing! like jnoon did.
  11. I did mine yesterday, big difference pulling through guide bar length oak without complaint, Not too noisy either, bit naughty as its still in warranty but I knew there was a great saw in there waiting to get out!
  12. No it just means they're in business, like me. they gave me some old flannel about reviewing my customer status or something but basically like I said, I was just getting the best deal I could. My size of my back passage, which seems to figure large in your imagination had nothing to do with it........mate.
  13. I got loan once from a bank, they gave me the rate etc, I said "can't you do better than that?" So they dropped it, saved me some money, moral of the story, you don't ask you don't get I cannot believe all these people on here who are saying "I never drop my price" I don't get offended if people try and chisel me down, knock 'em a bit off make them feel good. If I am a chancer so be it.
  14. You'll find if you use it for chip it will make a big difference to your tidy up!
  15. Always the problem with day rate as opposed to price work.
  16. Has it got a half roof?
  17. So things were done a little different, trees were trimmed and felled, I doubt these guys called themselves Arboriculturalists but they were doing the job. Anyway the point was sitting round in pubs or talking to pedants on forums things were always "better in the old days no money left in the game!" or "too many youngsters ruining it for us pros" etc
  18. So people weren't trimming and felling trees in 1973?
  19. I noticed that! Some of them are just not worthy.
  20. Mine has improved, less boggyness, bit more poke and pick-up; still not a patch on the 200, but i'll drill a couple of holes in the muffler soon as shown on another thread and see what we see. It's still the only show in town so you might as well get it; (hardening rumours on here however about the Husky)
  21. Similar to a thing called a "future fork" it's a horsey thing, my old boss back in the 90s with always going on about 'em, "You see boy it's a rake and a fork!" they're on FB if you Google it. (was good mind just a bit fragile, God help you if you broke a tine on it!)
  22. Wow if this is as good as it sounds it will be a gamechanger. What engine has it got? (Hp I mean)
  23. Ok, thanks, I'll pull it out,run it empty on aspen and put ordinary fuel in.
