  1. Funnily enough mine has gone down and with a what they call a guaranteed ncd which means we can have as many accidents as we like and still keep our ncd amazing running a 170bhp car at £300 per annum comp guaranteed ncd I'm going racing:thumbup:
  2. Just great to get other perspectives on this business- some contrary but some similar- all good for helping me get my head round the day. Most on here appear to be a good bunch with no real winding up issues leading to forum disagreements- I like that- Maybe though I should have chosen a more friendly name- Likeitorlump it was just a spur of the moment thing- not my real attitude at all-unless provoked of course.
  3. personally I think it would have looked better growing backwards as it were out of a slope. The wooden prop/log looks wrong- but that might just be the angle you took it from- still a good idea for a waste product:thumbup1:
  4. 70 euros- thats about £50 isn't it Mind you i've employed guys with cs39 who hadn't got a clue- no seriously- not a clue- I overpaid them but then again only did it once:thumbup1:
  5. we it was the eldests 8,th b/day .what an eventfull day shes had ,had the choice been with her famliy fir the day or going to the pics & dinner with a some school chumes ,opted for pictures got back @ 2pm, so we then went bowling for 2hrs & pizza hut for tea & i got beaten by a 4yr old obviously you need to use that rolling guide thinggy:001_smile:
  6. the whole thing doesn't really surprise me. Always cover yourself and then when you finally get a good 'un let him/her know they are appreciated- thats what good employees like. A bit of appreciation- not necessarily money- just saying thanks at the end of the day. I agree about the - sticking to the work times regardless, even if the last hour is spent sweeping out the store/going through the tool boxes. Otherwise you end up with competitive ending early from your teams.
  7. I wish peeps would stop misunderstanding each other on forums:001_tt2:
  8. Thats an idea use it to tie down loads Never used it to pull down trees though- Hmm'... must try it
  9. thats £50 per cube Isn't that a bit high
  10. Very astute- that was my thinking also this is 2 hard winters so far- will there be a third?
  11. pendulum islands part 2 does it for me
  12. Degrees have lost their cachet But I would have thought do a bit of manual with a firm to get experience and then do the academic and you will appreciate it better
  13. Just thinking about the new year and a period that is sometimes slack for us I have seen a small parcel of land with copice hazel on it which is offered for the wood I am thinking of felling/ storing till next year on site/ then selling as firewood preferably in the pre Xmas period. Any ideas would be welcome for example- I'm not sure what price to offer per acre I suspect this would depend on accessibility- but I don't want to offer too high and find the project loses money as I would like to make this an annual winter event. Also- are there any environmental considerations when undertaking this sort of work or anything I should take into account- Your thoughts/advice would be appreciated
  14. I agree But stop calling me shirley HA
  15. I like that May the best of your past be the worst of your future I'll have to remember it
  16. I know- thats why I'm looking at an ugly pile of knobbly cherry unions I do though prefer to see a pile of rounds- easy on the hand and the eye- would be a nightmare to get and sell just this though
  17. not sure what that means- can you elaborate?
  18. You can't have it all ways Anything you sell at 20% VAT is money in the bank for up to 4 months Provided they are quick paying customers
  19. apparently if carrying anything you have produced yourself you don't need a carriers licence though I do just in case I meet an uninformed enviro cleric
  20. quite a few organisations i deal with don't have contracts for tree work but do tend to use preferred contractors- i.e. someone who over time has provided the quality of work they require at the right price and even given the best advice/ had the fewest complaints. It's not a contract as such but in many ways it works like one
  21. trouble is 357xpg is £450 +VAT claim tax makes it effectively £360 new plus it's not running well so is £280 a good price? Maybe if you can't reclaim VAT!
  22. similar thing happened to me
  23. others beat me to it The fact is if she was expecting compensation then it's likely she is a certain sort of person- compensation culture vulture You'd have cleaned her car then she would have said you damaged the paintwork then you're in trouble as you have effectively admitted liability Sorry if that sounds cynical but I've been there and it hurts
  24. Not always so though I would like it to be
  25. so if she drove through a puddle and got dirt on her car- then she would expect compensation from the council (us) stupid cow hope you told her to sling her hook but these days of customer first makes me think you bit on your tongue and apologised for any inconvenience gave her a fiver to go through ARC car wash Dear Mr Cameron - bring in some anti customer legislation:001_tt2:
