  1. Big thanks to everyone who replied Fitted a new O ring on the float bowl and it all seems good now £3.29 for the seal kit from Garden & Hire Spares https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carb-Carburettor-Seal-Kit-Fits-HONDA-GX110-GX120-GX140-GX160-GX200/401553233696?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  2. I've got the terrasaur blade, it's pretty handy. I was using it on spruce and the problem there is the sap gums the blade up.
  3. Sounds like the easiest option would be a fire! You can make a good incinerator out of an old oil drum.
  4. Hard to tell exactly as it's only a fairly small amount, but looks like the top of the float bowl. I know there's an O ring there, but assume the fuel level shouldn't be that high anyway?
  5. Hi, Honda GXV120 engine There is a small fuel leak from the carb, with the fuel tap on, and the engine either on or off I've had the float valve off a good few times trying to clean it - no obvious signs of dirt though. The float looks ok - no pinhole or fuel inside weighing it down With the bowl off, you can push the float right up by hand and the fuel stops fine Looking for any suggestions of the next step? Replace float and needle valve? They both look ok?
  6. Infact it seems you only get 4p if you have an EPC of D or better, otherwise the rate for solar pv isn't even worth counting - 0.25p/kwh
  7. Yes that's what I mean though, it's ok if you already have solar PV, but the feed in tariff is apparently now about 4p http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/renewable-energy/electricity/solar-panels/feed-tariffs I have plenty of space for ground mounted solar but not worth doing at that price
  8. It might vary in different parts of the UK, but the advice I got from Home Energy Scotland (Energy Saving Trust), solar isn't worth it at the current rates unless you're home all day long to use the free electricity

    eBay scam?

Glad you got an outcome but can't see it being genuine at that price!
  10. Hi, is anyone cutting up IBCs for storing logs in? After a couple of valves (in good working order) to replace ones that are broken on IBC tanks I have here ££
  11. The council run site is full of rubbish, but no-one knows how it got there https://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/News/Travellers-condemn-city-site-as-junk-filled-and-dirty-19062018.htm
  12. Another leak I dug up was a long length of now redundant pipe which had just been blanked off at the far end and buried, so still under pressure. Think I dug that out all the way back to the junction at the "main" supply pipe
  13. You'll probably be best off replacing the whole length of pipe. My experience is you don't know what hodge podge is underground. Joins, junctions, redundant pipes blanked off etc. There was one leaking pipe we dig up which was blue MDPE, joined to black alkathene, joined to copper, joined to lead !! You can listen for and locate leaks using a steel rod (like a pinch bar). Some people believe in dousing too.
  14. No, Rustoleum, folks use it to paint vans, you will get it from a local supplier https://www.zoro.co.uk/shop/lubricants-and-chemicals/paints-and-primers/combicolor-metal-paints/f/8134
  15. IMO, a couple cans of rustoleum and a pack of foam rollers, and she will look fine, and be easy to touch up
  16. I've got the kellfri tree jack, doesn't get used much, but still handy to have
  17. There's a more basic version called the elephants trunk. I use it up a ladder. Never used or seen an easy lift harness so can't compare
  18. Have you already bought the vehicle?
  19. https://www.kellfri.co.uk/tree-jack
  20. I hope they gave you a pie or a bit of cake for that job outside the bakers!!!
  21. ^No that's the plain roundup. The stuff safe for water is ProBio. I was getting some on an account for someone recently, local supplier was charging about £65 for 5l of Clinic Up! The formulations and names changed slightly, Clinic Ace-Clinic Up. Gallup 360-Gallup XL Think the new stuff is "safer" as there's less additives?
  22. Do you still get gatso cameras in England? I got caught in my old van by a gatso on the A9, I was doing 60 on the dot (calibrated speedo) as I had done dozens of times before, without setting the camera off. Anyway on that night, I was towing a trailer and overtaking an artic. I think the gatsos have sensors to detect speeding HGVs, but then the photos will be manually checked by a person who would've spotted me. The A9 now has average speed cameras, which you can't trust as they will be anpr linked. Same as the mobile camera vans.
  23. That scam crowd are doing the rounds again, does anyone else get them on the phone? ALWAYS a bloke with a Liverpool accent
