  1. Is that legal? BTCV did some work here on commercial office sites and it caused a huge fuss as it was using free people and able to price less than local business.
  2. A view in Derbyshire.
  3. Docs said auto immune is most often caused from a virus/deep shock/loss of a close loved one/extreme prolonged stress which one has no control over at all. It varies in different people and if caught soon can be controlled in various methods. A good balanced diet is very important. Andrea woke up one morning and could not walk/move hands without extreme pain. (diet was fine/bloods checked and fine so was told down to the mental stress of a foreign government office involved in fraud and stealing all we owned whilst a large loan on the house and having to move into a tent on the 30th March which did this) We have several religious relatives who are high social workers and medical head menders but did not understand us at all (even though been to the place in Norge) and gave no real help which was shocking to experience. Good music/fresh oxygen/meals with friends and mountain views help me relax. Arbtalk is also a fine place to blah blah and useful for work.
  4. Keep it simple and basic. Might earn less then some but then less stress and valuable tools to be stolen.
  5. Some stress like the buzz when climbing high in trees is natural and fine and one the reasons we continue in this trade. Due to the Norwegian Government land fraud issue since 2006 we have both now been to the doctors. (I had not been in at all before and no colds for over 10 seasons but was becoming freaked out with the slow actions in Norge) Serious word of advice:- Stress needs to be sorted ASAP because Andrea now has Auto Immune problems which is caused from chronic longterm stress and "one will never become better and could become worse even when this is finished" she has been told. This make me so B******S. (please excuse the lingo) We both used to be such no worries people and full on with life and business and often helped others when we could see it was needed. I know all people have some hassles as a fact of life and most can be sorted alone and some with help from friends. Take care out there as dangerous to use chainsaws when worried.
  6. I used to own a Mowi Skog 8 with 2453 crane. (Sold local as was going abroad) It works on low oil pressures and simple/reliable to use (remote hand controls available) and will pick up close to a machine in one move unlike some makes. Had a hydraulic winch with 30 metres of cable for those out of reach pieces in difficult sites. It also had a movable drawbar to work in tight stands. I would purchase a Mowi again without a second thought but this time the large crane on tractor linkage so can be used without the trailer where we often work now. Buckets/brash grabs are available. Mowi - MOWI
  7. The Alstor is used in Sweden and Norway with various different bodies in powerline work and to them the price reasonable. Several years ago we considered one and I wanted to know lifespan hours of hard use but could not find the details from the firm and it has a PETROL engine which uses much fuel. Worth a purchase with good grant funding otherwise very expensive and several alternatives around.
  8. That's a fine video!
  9. There is the one we owned now on Arbtrader Mowi Skog 8 with 2453 crane and winch. It has disc brakes and goes well with a Unimog.
  10. Bergen does have some rough weather (between the sunshine) and the cities emblem is an umbrella. Good fresh fish market when the sea is not flooding the wharf area.
  11. Send us all a boast card. Have a good one. Who you flying with?
  12. We have used Toshiba's with "windows" and good bug hunting software and no issues at all. I would not purchase Apple products on the basis of the work/live conditions of the people in China which seem terrible from all accounts.
  13. Central Derbyshire.
  14. Good to see the chainsaws were traced. All the ones we have are marked and Husqvarna should have a data base with serial info and who purchased which the Police can access. Problem is when people change address and don't tell them the new one.
  15. Home Products Basketware Produced in China like most products are now.
  16. I am not old but with all the Norwegian caused stress since 2006 feel old sometimes now.
  17. Speaking from bitter experience those pipes look like being snagged when turning unless that's the yellow rope purpose. Good useful crane (with linkage lugs) and safe colours. Have you fixed road lights on the back? I used magnetic versions to avoid damage in woods. Police here often check as motorbike area and would not see it stopped until too late.
  18. Best make some Birch and Maple wine then?
  19. Looks rough but much too good to weigh in and the people that stole the machine knew what it was being used to do and stole it to use. (good info received from a reliable source) Engine and Gearbox was in top condition and had been serviced and the spiral blade brand new. Could produce 40 cubic metres and hour from pole lengths thinnings on the large blade.
  20. Most woodlands were planted in areas not suitable for growing food crops and often wet and steep. (Horse drawn era) So now often a problem to access with modern machines and extract. There are some good ideas around but often expensive and not all areas can have those nice funding sources to help with purchase. Seen some people using a basic diesel "Grey Fergie" with a linkage drum winch and long cable for good results.
  21. Still looking for this rare machine and I am sure being used for woodfuel production somewhere. Reward!
