  1. And that’s the opinion of most of these immigrants that we are welcoming into Europe and the U.K.!
  2. Thumbs up for km56, we ran two until a scumbag nicked one 3 weeks ago. Got a 56 and a 90 4mix and I choose the 56 every time. Hate the 4mix and will never have another!
  3. Try one of these 222078190595 eBay number and some strong poly rope to a padded webbing strap or heavy duty tree tie - will save the wall taking the strain. Tied a neighbours heavily leaning 18ft unknown type of tree (from New Zealand), gradually pulled it upright and 8 years on its got a nice strong root plate and is around 25ft - all healthy ?
  4. I do hedge and tree maintenance at a vets, subbed in by the company that does all their building maintenance and it’s cis payment ever since I started there about 3 /4 years ago. I just keep in mind the figure I Want for the job and add 20%. They pay my tax and at the end of the tax year, part of my hmrc bill has been paid in advance!
  5. Did he agree spec in writing/email? What did you fit - timber posts, panels, or arris rail and feather edge?
  6. A river that’s been dammed could well be a productive fishery giving you a potential income stream subject to local laws, fishing rights etc. Carp, catfish, zander are all well sought after and depending on the quality of the fishing, anglers would be willing to pay to fish from well managed swims. (If that’s your bag of course?)
  7. A good few years ago we reduced a line, about 15 of them I think by 20ft. Not the first time they’d been done. Took a while as roadside with bt lines running through. 11 years later did them again, 20ft or so off, quite wide this time. Said to the customer that we should really be back more often to keep on top of them - they thought it had been 5 years, not 11. Now, 5 years later we have them booked in to reduce from 30ft to 12ft, take the 15ft overhanging the lane back to fenceline, all with a view to (maybe) fell and replant in a year or so. I’m on the ground for it this time running the chipper and being happy I’m not up there cutting! ?
  8. 322751948604 eBay item no is the one I’ve been using but many similar looking ones out there
  9. I sharpen multitips with diamond disc on a 4” grinder. (Wear a dust mask). Bit fiddly and time consuming but can get a reasonable edge back if not mullered. I now use 2 multitips and two standard rhino teeth on my 360. Cuts better and easier to sharpen imho
  10. As someone who occasionally sells a few pieces of 3 - 6 yr seasoned wood turning blanks on eBay, I can testify that it’s not going to make a fortune unless very rare and or interesting shape, colours, grain etc. A lot of the cost of some of those apple pieces listed will also be the shipping. Quite dear for heavier lumps!
  11. Bamboo takes over far too quickly and is a b......d to dig out and get rid of!
  12. A couple of pics from today - deep old sycamore stump left in from one we took down 2 weeks ago. Foundations now dug out close by gave us good access to get the whole thing right out ?
  13. Same old story, can’t take phone call, in hospital, can’t hear, just had operation on throat/voicebox so can’t speak, just moved to remote location, will only deliver it but for a good price, won’t accept cash on collection or anyone looking at the item because IT DOESNT EXIST!!! so many of these on eBay, also gumtree, preloved, and other sites.
  14. Sacre bleu - French too
  15. Not far from Chelmsford, mid Essex. Close up of leaves with small black berries
  16. No problem- will put it aside and get some better pics
  17. Cheers - I’ll get some close ups of the leaves tomorrow
  18. We just uncovered this behind a fence that we need to replace. It’s got to come out but would like an idea what it is please? Leaves are very much like privet but never seen one as big as this?
  19. What’s your location Pete?
  20. Hi rob, your books will finish April 5th 2019 and should be submitted after that date and under current rules tax to be paid by 31st jan 2020 (as far as I’m aware) Moves are underway to make all submissions digital every 3 months so worth keeping up to date with what hmrc are doing. A good accountant will save you more than they will cost you!
  21. Coracten tablets on prescription help my reynauds- not a cure but certainly helps. Gold leaf dry touch gloves ok till they get soaked through, winter touch when the temp really drops but not good for climbing
  22. Even if there were twice that amount of logs left for the op, it doesn’t change the fact that it was probably over double the cost it should have been. always get more than one quote and get recommendations
  23. I was a bit peeved when it happened initially, but just price it in on quotes to building firms now. Accountant gets all the cis vouchers and calculates what’s been paid so in effect the tax bill at year end is a bit lower ?
  24. I’m with you on this Mick!

I use wax or 2/3coats gloss paint, many recommend pva glue and I store anything for turning a minimum 3 years in outbuildings with airflow
