    Nick, if you could do 25 tonne of ash into Suffolk at £50 per tonne i'll take it, cash on delivery, access for an artic is up a farm track.

    I use my local a few times a week, we haven't got a pub or shop in our village, but i can walk to the local in the next village in ten minutes. Four or so years ago a cockney took it over, the first night he was in there he said he was going to turn this little country pub in to a "proper" pub. That drove the locals away from the place, within 12 months he was skint and on his way back to London. The pub was about to close down when a young lad took it over he asn't looked back since and the locals slowly came back. Its a cracking little pub, which i'm off to now for a few pints before my Sunday roast

    I had a new single cab y-reg hilux in 1999-2000 iirc (company owned) it was a great tool, towed genys, compressors, towerlights, caravans, the lot with it, couldn't knock it.

    The wildebeest are getting fatter and fatter in this part of East Anglia, i put my adverts in the local papers today but have been doing at least two loads a day for the last couple of weeks and the weather as been in the mid twentys for the last few days, roll on the cold weather

    Seems unusual, i hired in a compact tractor to get me out of a muddle a few weeks ago and the hire company insisted it was on their insurance and not mine, they said it was to stop any arguing if there was an accident or theft of the machine, by the way i paid the princely sum of £45 plus diesel for the days hire which i thought was really cheap.

    I rent half of an old threashing barn the bit i rent is approx 70x30' with 4 times as much space outside to store cordwood, got a burn site, for £40 a week. must admit though my cord is piled high!!!!

    Dont know anyone over the water, but you could try Steven Goldfinch he's in kent he normally has hundreds of tonnes of chestnut at any time, if you want some contact details i'll pm them to you.

    Forgot about this one until i was going through last years book to see how the log sales are compared to this time last year. Got a phone call late in the winter last year... Him: "have you any logs left, my normal guy has run out". Me: "yes sir" and gave him the price plus delivery, as it was well outside my area. Me: "can i take your name?". Him "yes it's Mr. Dettori". Me: "...as in Frankie?". Him "It'sa da' very man". Who have you delivered logs to ?

    What do you know about crb checks ? A mate of mine as just applied for a job as a satalite tv installer and he's been asked to have a crb check, all ok up to know but..... In his early days he was a bit of a lad, to say the least, he as alot of convictions, drugs, theft, drink driving, fraud the list is endless. He's not been in any kind of trouble in the past twenty years not even a speeding ticket, so are these convictions "spent" or will they show up on the crb, because if they do i think he will be snookered, and alot of the adult population will be in the same boat if these checks become more widely used. So, what do you know ?
